What faction are you? If you're empire, the linearity does get a bit better. Balmorra is an absolute DISGRACE of a planet. One of my least favorite MMO zones of all time. I will be skipping everything but class quests on alts. Nar Shada is also linear, but for whatever reason it feels a bit less frustratingly so, even though it's all hallways. I guess because it doesn't look like it should be more open.

Tatooine is awesome, and redeemed the game for me. I was a disappointed by Balmorra, and couldn't wait to leave. Nar Shada was meh, and I was worried that leveling would turn into a drag. Tatooine was fantastic. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Alderaan is also a major improvement from Balmorra and Nar Shada, though not as good as Tatooine in my view.

this game is a great single player game, but is failing at being an MMO, even at lvl 35.

Balmorra is AWFUL. The most linear **** of all time.

No.

And yet, every road has something on it.

Oh, and the Datacrons are reasons to go off-the-beaten-path.

- Response time in animations and in general. When I click a spell I expect it to be smoothe. I dont like referencing "WoW" but look, i wont even compare it to the WoW now-a-days... im tlaking burning crusade, the first expansion. It felt smoothe and coherent. The gameplay/Animations/Combat was not clunky at all, it just felt right. Swtor does not feel smoothe at all. When your fighting something it feels clunky as HELL. **** lags...... its just not coded very well. Your hero engine sucks. Animations are AWFUL.
Let me explain it this way, reading this sentence, is easy, and comprehensible, just like SWTOR is.

- There is NO reason this game should be such a memory hog.
Yes there is, it's RAM intensive... this isn't a bad thing. RAM is cheap.

Quote:
I have a decent computer and I can barley move in PvP.
Then it's not that decent.

Quote:
i can run crysis and all other games on high settings, but I cant run some crappy coded MMO on the LOWEST ... at 800/600 ?????????????????????????????????????????????
Crysis is Processor and GPU intensive, SWTOR is not.

Quote:

Its frustrating..
No disagreement here.

Quote:
and I promise you are going to lose players if you dont fix those 3 issues.
Doubt it.

Quote:
And im affraid the first issue cannot be fixed.
It doesn't need to be... this was never intended to be a sandbox game... therefore there's nothing to fix.

Quote:
You created a linear game/world/worlds and those cant be changed...
They can be changed just fine... but, this isn't a sandbox style game.

Quote:
But hey you made your money back on launch thats all you care about probably.
If you seriously think that... I'm sorry.

There are millions of reasons to explore and it has already been posted in this thread.
Exploring is...key? You must be playing a different game then the one I've been playing for the past 6 and a half months. This game I'm playing shows you where to go for your next quest, and there is absolutely no reason to deviate from that path as there is nothing of worth outside of it.
Representation of TOR from Launch to the end of the free month is here.

There are reasons, maybe not huge ones but there are some. There are a lot of champion enemies out there to kill that have some pretty nice drops. Also, the scenery is pretty nice to look at in my personal opinion

It's a decent engine that provides the power and utilities needed to create a game like TOR. As long as an engine can work and can compete with other MMO engines, then it's fine.

It's not as bad as some people (people like you) seem to think it is.

I think that's the problem, outside of the linear path there is nothing. I guess I'm used to an open world, where you can explore, find hidden clues, small little towns, explore caves to gather materials and etc.

I'd also like to ask what the benefits of going off the beaten path were in World of Warcraft (Since that's what everyone compares TOR to).

Finding mining nodes, and... fishing.
