Universal Ignore List.

The Ignore feature needs to be improved.

First, please make clicking Ignore on someone add *every character in their legacy* to the ignore list. It is possible for someone to have dozens of characters on one server, making the ignore extremely reliant on you knowing all of their character ID's to be able to guarantee you won't run into someone you'd rather not play alongside.

Second, please make clicking Ignore on someone add them to a universal, legacy-wide ignore list. I currently have 32 characters across the two factions, and remove the 10-second global cooldown on adding/removing people that are presently not online.

It takes me long enough to add everyone to each character's ignore list that I have to move in the midway point to avoid being logged out for inactivity while I'm typing in names.

This functionality has been requested since day one, got even more requests when the legacy system was implemented, yet the devs still refuse to comment or make any strides to enhance personal preferences on what could now be classified as virtual social distancing.

As well as universal friend list, maybe it should be tied to your account instead of your character?

Careful, you are treading dangerously close to not just making sense, but also emulating a competitor - both of which may be bannable.

I don't think they'll ever do that, as it would be abused badly. IE, someone stalking you, adds you to their friends list, suddenly they know every character you have. Also, as was mentioned, just because you are friends with someone in game, doesn't mean you want all your chars to be friends

The universaal ignore system could cause problems, but with what's happening in the game a lot these days, it might be worth the hassle...lol

^^ Signed.

It would be perfect if we could ignore an account (=all the alts of a specific player) and the ignore would be on all our toons automatically. And yes, why the 10 second wait? There's no point having it. If I want to ignore multiple people in a row, I'm not gonna change my mind in 10 seconds, and it's not like I'm going to spam them or anything.

A shared ignore list for all my characters is not a problem (although it would reduce the number of times I can report goldseller spammers on starter worlds).

A freely-accessible "ignore all his characters" feature can be used by a stalker to identify your alts. It works like this:
* The stalker thinks that the character "Zogger" might be the same account as "Zoomer", so he enlists the help of a collaborator (or a second account on a secont PC).
* Zogger is online in, let's say, the Fleet.
* He then ignore-all's Zoomer (who is off-line) while standing himself and his collaborator on the Fleet.
* If Zoomer and Zogger are on the same account, the collaborator can hear Zogger but the stalker cannot.

Job done. If it only works for on-line characters (that is, in the example above, the stalker cannot ignore-all Zoomer), then it's harder to use for this purpose, obviously.

EDIT: If /who hides people you are ignoring, the collaborator is not needed, and the stalker doesn't have to be on the same planet as the stalkee.

Yes, Legacy banning Legacy. I NEED that one!!! All my slots are full, and he is using VPN tunneling on the same pc to play more toons at the same time.
Alas also VPN tunneling can be countered because the PING is the same, and the Paypal is the same. So I/guild needs All evil legacies blocked with same Paypal and PING too.
Surely EA can easy see that the VPN server(s) on own pc got the same stats and PING even if using different IP numbers? (and look up IP disconsistancies in account trying to log in or having been logged!)

I also never make mistakes, yet booze is great (Now where is my doc file with what char should be in what vpn tunnel again? *hik* Ah, crap.... already logged in.... logging my IP is a ***** too... my trillions of accounts are now busted... -evil hackerdude )

(Did I forget using the same security key? Did you make the two authy apps btw? 'Free accounts for EVERYBODY!!' -Oprah WinFrAuth )

Yeah, I guess I could live with the option one too, even that would be a huge help. I hadn't really thought of the downsides of option two.

All the more reason we should have actual friend requests.
