Im confused by this reasoning. I rarely if ever used a macro to use actual abilities. I only used them for mouseover macros or something else that was irrelevant. Castsequence? Garbage. Macros didn't help you reduce the amount of needed abilities in WoW....

They're missing still and the next patch notes don't mention anything about macros. There is also some twitter where they say they are still thinking to put in or not, macros and add-ons.

So it's not likely they will implement macros, to say the least, any time soon.

Here a screenshot of how I've setup my bars so far:

I find it a bit frustrating (actually very) that gaining new abilities has become a puzzle which is rappidly growing usolvable as in I have too many buttons to get everything placed optimal.

Being able to macro stuff together would decrease the number of buttons and perhaps free a moment or 2 for me to look at the game and not my action bar.

Anyone else had/having similar issues if so how are you coping with it?
This is where that little thing I like to call "choice" comes in.

Just because the candy store is stocked with every manner of delightful treats does not mean you have to walk out with 1 of everything...

I wish this was true but it seems redundant abilities or abilities which replace others, are very scarce, especially if pvp is your game, where it seems you need almost everything in your spellbook.

I don't like "complicated" rotations because a rotation is another word for routines, I like responsive gameplay where abilities lights up as you use other abilities at random and then you have to make a hard choice about which to activate first.

Routines and rotations are the very counterpoint to "flow" which is the state of mind where you are suitably challenged, not too hard, not too easy, because you're awake and conscious of your actions and what significanse they have. You aren't too challenged and thus frustrated to enjoy it, neither are your senses too dulled from the repetitive nature to fall asleep.

Definitely. It's like rubiks cube trying to figure out which goes where.
Allow us 4 hot bars on the botto. And that would solve a lot of this issue.

It's extremely annoying to have to put regularly used combat arts on the two vertical bars. They may as well be in another room of the house. Lol

WoW NEEDs macros, because it needs them and so many other shortcuts to make up for all its base failures. This game does not.

Talk about throwing out a half-baked game for the players to fix up on their own with some psuedo-coding LOL you have to be a shill to swallow that down.

Too many abilities...

... not enough macro support.
