You wanna know the difference between AoC and TOR?
TOR is actually a good game.

I understand your concerns about the dialogue.
I loved AoC. It was definitely the most enjoyable first 20 levels I've ever played of an MMO. But then the voice acting and the world died as soon as I left on that boat. Personally, the sheer amount of voice acting in SWTOR has kept me interested since release. For once I've actually given a damn about the outcome of quests (missions) and the immersiveness is fantastic. However, re-rolling alts is going to be rather boring I guess. :/
I'm no-where near maxing yet either and I'm hoping the dialogue doesn't become irritable. Fingers crossed.

It has the makings of a good game, but to be bored only after 8 days really doesn't do the game any justice.

Most offline single player games can carry the same or more hours of gameplay before getting boring; I'm still playing Skyrim!

It doesn't use the same combo system as AoC did. It already has an auction house right from the start. It has a starship minigame and housing. (starship) It doesn't stop the voice acting and such after level 20. It has companions while AoC didn't. It doesn't have lame separate gathering maps where you run around for ages trying to find a few materials. It doesn't have a very weird gear system where you could still PvE at lv 30 in lv 5 gear without too much problems. Your choices do actually matter in the game, even if it's just in dialogue options further on in the game or in changes to your personal story.

No, this is not AoC 2.0. It's not a WoW clone in a starwars jacket either. All it is is a TRADITIONAL mmo (just like wow, rift, aion, lotr, etc were) that tries to up the bar a little on what it does. As in, it doesn't do anything new apart from a few things like full dialogue. But what it does, it tries to do just as good, and hopefully better, than other games. And considering how long this game has been out officially, I'd say they're doing a very good job at that.

Swtor should be compared to wow at launch. Or maybe like halfway into vanilla. Not wow in wotlk/cataclysm. Why? Because you can't expect a game, even one that game out this year, to have the same amount of polish, features and bug free-ness as a game that has been out for over 7 years.
I said that this isn't WoW. But I was wrong. Combat log, dual spec, 16 man raids going to be easier than 8 mans... No, this game is exactly WoW in a star wars skin. They're just subtle about copying it, by slowly implementing WoW features over time.

I stopped playing skyrim after 8 hours. I'm currently 1 day 6 hours and 28 minutes total game time in TOR and I've been playing since early access and not even close to bored and only level 23 on one character (And I intend to max them all).

Subjectivity bro. Subjectivity.

You're bored after 8 days and so the game must be in trouble?

LMAO (not laughing at you mate, am laughing with you )

I hope you enjoy your next game more.

Personally I'm not bored at all. It's a great game imo. You have the right to an opinion though and you've now expressed it. Good luck on your travels!

Bored after 8 days...right. I've been playing for 14 or 13 days and I'm level 28 now on my highest char. Granted I make a lot of alts generally, most staying low level. But I figure that if I focused on 1 char only I'd be about lv 35 tops now. People being 50, or close to it, and saying that the game got boring for them just can't be pleased. It's not bioware's fault that they levelled so fast, and now whine about 'not enough endgame' only 11 days after official release. Heck, an intended part of this game was to make one or two alts. And another to enjoy the dialogue and such, not skip through it all. If you rush to high level, it's your own fault.

If you made alts in previous mmorpg's, you will again in TOR. Want to know why? Because this game has more diversity for individual classes than most other mmorpg's before it. The static quests are all the same yes. But then there's 2 sides. Light and dark, and they both get different quests. And then each class has a personal storyline as well. Which is like what...1/4 of the quests you do? So that's even more diversity in there.

People just whine about everything that doesn't meet their perception of perfection imo. Pvp isn't perfect, but it works for it's intended purpose. pve quests aren't perfect, but it works for a traditional mmo. The game overall isn't perfect. But it works just fine. There's nothing truly game breaking for the majority of players, yet 'game breaking' is about all i seem to hear on here.

You want to know game breaking? The game getting stuck sometimes when you talk to an npc. Or you falling through the ground more than once an hour. Or not being able to enter pvp at all, ever. Or not being able to get the game to run at all. (as i've heard some say, though it's rare.) THOSE things are game breaking. Not 'pvp is laggy' or 'the world is kinda empty' or 'travel/load times are too long'.
I said that this isn't WoW. But I was wrong. Combat log, dual spec, 16 man raids going to be easier than 8 mans... No, this game is exactly WoW in a star wars skin. They're just subtle about copying it, by slowly implementing WoW features over time.

Yep 8 days in and I'm bored. I'm glad your still having fun because this could be a good game for me too, but it's seriously lacking content and the existing content is repetitive and unfortunately frustrating.
