If they do it, they do it, but there's no magic in a merge at this point.
And SF and SS cater to very different people (Raiders and PVPers on SS vs RPs\ERPs on SF) so I wouldn't expect any magic bullet coming from a merger.

IDK bud, but I moved a toon to do ranked pvp in ss recently, and the q is pretty dead.
Everyone moved to DM or SF.

I wouldn’t be too sure about that anymore. Yes there are more RPers on SF than SS, but that’s about the only difference between them now.
RP people and PvP on SF get a long fairly well. Actually there have been a lot of pvp people who moved over to SF from SS (like myself).
A merge wouldn’t be a magic bullet, it would be a bandaid at best and an extension of the game’s life because the underlying problem is Bioware are essentially driving players from the game.
If declining numbers in the queues are any indication, more people are leaving than coming back to the game or trying it out.
Bioware have many ways to tackle that besides mergers, they just seem unable, incapable or unwilling to try ways that could lure people back or retain players. All of which are fairly low cost compared to adding new content or merging servers.
The ball is in their court and only they can keep the game viable. If they don’t, then mergers will eventually happen for no other reason than to save costs.

I’m not sure they transferred alts, more likely they just rerolled on to SF or DM. Transfers are still way too expensive in my opinion.
Low cost transfers should be something Bioware consider before mergers.

They do not do that now but you were not there at the beginning when the last merger happened. Roleplayers had a very difficult time with some of the pvp players to the point they were telling RP to leave and that they were not wanted there. It was very difficult for the first couple of months for roleplayers. Yea, now for the most part people get along but I am not sure I want to deal with that mess again so soon.

NO. After spending the last week + on Star Forge, NO way does that server need merged with SS. There is at least 2 instances of Imp Fleet each night, I didn't check each night but there was 3 instances also.
One mega server couldn't hold that with BW's stuff.
Another reason being stated below.

Oh gosh yes. PLEASE NO! Keep Star Forge over there & leave Satele Shan alone. The RP/ERPers need their own server & not to be mixed with the rest.

Yeah seems that was happening on both servers. Harassment of RP'ers & pushing them to go to the other server as it was the designated "RP" server. I think dude finally got the message that SF was the new Ebon Hawk since it got merged into it. lol

Yea I think so but if they merge again, I shudder to think of the problems again so I really don't think we need to go through all that mess once again.

I take a week off because I’m angry at this crap matchmaking system and come back to find I’ve only got arenas popping after 8pm prime time on Star Forge?

You’ve got to be kidding me. Not enough people to for 8v8 at 8.40pm EST

I guess more people aren’t playing pvp for the same reasons I’ve not been playing the game.

While I’ve been typing this I’ve been waiting 12 mins for a pop.

Game really is going to hell faster than even I thought possible.

Actually I was there (east coast) before the last merge with the east coast servers. I got 3 characters to lvl 70 before the merge and I’ve basically played SF ever since (only a little bit on SS).

I’ve not noticed any difference since then towards RP people. If anything, pvp is so bad that people rage at everyone. No discrimination.

There are always idiot loud mouths in pvp. Pvpers themselves get told to leave or uninstall. That’s just pvp, there are always arseholes.

I think you may have been listening to those few “soft” people who felt they were being specifically persecuted. If you pvp as much as me, you’d have seen that was rare, especially on Star Forge. I could probably count on one hand how many times I saw it and when I did, most of the team gave the loud mouths crap for saying anything.
