Who does he think he is, skipping the middleman (CM/EA) and going directly to just buying his riches without the RNG risk we've all endured to make our credits.

Thank God you're here to tell on him!!! 👍
You you didn't win by getting all those augments the hard way?

If he is reporting someone buying from a credit seller.. I'm all for it.. and you shouldn't belittle him because of it. What little respect for you I just flushed down the toilet.

I thought your response was a little out of character, too. Like you were supporting the person breaking the rules and going after the one who doesn't want to see the rules broken and wanted to know how to properly report it. You're generally very player-supportive so it was just a weird reaction Unless you are a gold-seller or regular buyer--I could see why this thread might have set you off

I have reported the player specifically to Bioware, including the server name, the person's username and the character they purchased the credits on. Still, he continues playing every day -- lording his purchased gear over those who wish to play honestly.

Has BioWare stopped caring about cheaters and exploiters? Is the subscription money they receive each month not adequate to provide support? What more could I do to protect the integrity of the community and the game we all play?
Why on Earth would they ban your friend?

The mantra for this game regarding exploits is: "Exploit Early, Exploit Hard, Be Smart About Hiding Your Gains, Keep Everything!"

I haven't participated in any of the exploits this game has had, nor profited off the GTN by listing items at massively inflated cost when I've heard about any of the credit exploits to maximise profit, but this is not a game I regard as one that punishes exploiters.

A quick search on ebay has credits for sale, items for sale, they even had runs to get the Izax rewards before the time period to get them ended. I don't think there is much fear of actions on accounts that violate the TOS. Other games sure, but not this one.

I learned to stop worrying about people that did those things a while ago. /shrug

Just my 2¢

1. How does the OP know the person actually bought creds? People exaggerate and talk **** all the time.
2. What's it to the OP? OP mind your business, or just kick him off your discord.
3. Worry about yourself. Don't worry about what other people are doing. You'll live a happier life.

1. I've never heard of anyone talk **** about buying credits. Ever.. In any MMO I've played.
2. I'm not changing my morals for you. I find out someone is buying credits I'll report them. Period.
3. I don't worry about anything or anyone.. but if you're going to blatantly break the rules, yeah I'll call you on it.

Read my first post. I was addressing Tuxs in the one you quoted.

Besides--just because I can handle ignoring malfeasance doesn't mean I wouldn't support Bioware nuking the crap out of the dishonest players or trolls. I don't worry about them as they throw their dishonesty in other peoples' faces because something will eventually happen and they'll be crying like little children when Bioware eventually gets around to stopping them and taking away the things they came about dishonestly. I'm happy for that outcome as well.

EDIT: To add, I also find it a bit suspicious when people push back against those who don't like when people get away with breaking the rules. It's almost like they have something to lose if Bioware were to actually enforce their own rules in a timely fashion...

I can't honestly imagine paying real-life money for credits. It just seems ridiculous and pathetic.

That being said, I feel as though if there is a limited amount of time and attention that the developers or moderators or whoever are going to be able to put into the game, then disciplining credit-buyers is really dang low on my list of priorities. Basically other than augments, there is almost nothing that can be purchased that has a stat advantage. End-game gear is not tradable.

In contrast, the people who are using exploits in PvP, their activities violate the terms of service AND hurt other players. Same with people who exploit certain Ops fights when there are known bugs, or even just grief other players, that is the kind of ToS violations that I want to see addressed as a higher priority, because those things also hurt and drive away the rest of the player base.

If it's just about somebody buying credits to turn around and buy some cosmetic shell on the GTN; I really just don't feel like it effects me what outfit somebody else is wearing.

Not really Pay-to-Win(good job on click bait though). Pay-to-win would be getting uber/BiS gear only by paying the game company. Buying credits, or buying stuff off of a cash shop to sell to other players for credits, to then buy high ilvl gear that isn't BiS isn't Pay-to-Win.
