I can't say the people we talk to who are also gamers are excited about anthem. It's something like 3rd in line of similar gamers and given it's ea at the head of it. More at likely to move away from it than go running toward it. ea is just that bad. I can't say there is much hype for anthem that I hear about. Hype as of right now I think is pretty low for a game like anthem. That might change in 2019 when it finally gets here but to me ea missed the window for that kind of game given the other similar gamers that are out there.

I am not saying I will never try it, but only after it's out for two or three years, it doesn't cost anything more than 20 Euros (the buy power of a Euro in Europe and Dollar in the US is about the same), and all the early bugs have been fixed. It doesn't look very interesting though, so it's really a "if I am REALLY bored and it DOES turn more interesting than I thought". It doesn't look like a Bioware game at all. And by that I mean a game in the tradition of those: Baldur's Gate Neverwinter Nights Knights of the Old Republic Dragon Age Mass Effect

When I first saw the reveal trailer for Anthem I was very excited, looked like a game I could get my teeth into - I love games with a heavy Exploration element (ESO is great for this). The I realised Ben irving was involved with leading the project. I'll never knowingly play any game he has lead imput to, so Anthem is dead to me. All The Best

I've asked myself that same question. It makes as much sense as getting the creators of Titan Fall to create a STORY DRIVEN SW game. It's like someone at EA sent the wrong game projects to the wrong companies. That or they're expecting failure and just want to close more studios and absorb all their IP's in order to eventually sell them off to the highest bidder.
