Pretty much what the question says. Maybe it's because I have little interest in all these multiplayers, but I don't understand the hype. Could someone explain to me what the draw of Anthem is, as opposed to a game, like Destiny? It is because Anthem is all shiny?

Now, if we were talking about a new Uncharted game, I'd probably be as hyped as people seem for Anthem, or Days Gone coming out this year.

I guess I don't why people are putting so much hope into Anthem, surely this will make it harder for the game to succeed. Also, if you are one of those with high hopes for Anthem, what are you most looking forward/excited for?

I guess I just don't understand why multiplayer is a big deal, I'd much rather a AAA single player game, because I think they have - way - more replayability.

Before I bite, what hype you are talking about?

Edit: as for MP vs single player games - Google Jorgensen talking about Visceral shutdown.

I wouldn't have noticed any hype if you hadn't said anything.

I just want to know why people are excited about it, I mean, for all I know people are excited for Anthem's story, I assume it has some, all games have a little story after all, or a set up?

tbh, I read the article, but it's EA. I put zero stock in anything they say, I was more wondering what people think that actually play vidya gamez.

All I've seen on Anthem is pretty pictures and a video with impressive looking graphics.

That says nothing about whether or not I'm going to be interested in it. That says nothing about whether or not it's going to be a "good" game.

Star Citizen has equally impressive graphics and I'm FAR more interested in playing THAT game....if it ever launches...which would be nice....been waiting for years now.
<Dead Wookiee Storage> Imp - StarForge/Satele Shan
<Babyslaughter> Pub - Star Forge
<SluisVanShipyards> Pub - Satele Shan
....and who doesn't like laughing babies?

The trailers I've seen make it look good, but I've fallen for that before.

If it wasn't for these forums and the conspiracy theories I wouldn't know about it. So I'd say probably not enough.

Are you going to give it a try?

What people? Who can not wait to "experience sense of pride and accomplishment"? On this forums I mostly seen sad posts about developers being reassigned to Anthem - which is obviously not good for this game.

You asked why EA prefers MMO and shuns single player games. This is your answer – it is more profitable for them.
