Arcann romance appreciation thread! Haters keep out please!❤

I think there will be.

Vector is my fave Comp period, so no never dumping him! this is why I have a specific character for our beloved Arcann.

I don't doubt it.

I decided to dedicate one character for Arcann too, partly for this reason. I don't mind dumping companions if I feel my player character and said companion were never a good match to begin with, but if they were, I just can't.

Now I just gotta hope the character I picked will be a good enough personality match for Arcann... There's several different ways they can go with him, and not all of them would go well with my ds smuggler.

My consular is a healer/diplomat who does not judge other cultures. She let Nadia do her thing and doesn't complain about the Voss. She's not going to "clutch her pearls" over differences.

Aside from Arcann, anyone have any favourite vanilla LI? (I myself don't really) But if I had to choose, it would be either Quinn or Vector. But I can't say I particularly ever cared.
As soon as I saw kotfe, I devoted that toon to Arcann whether he was going to be a LI or not! Though somehow I always felt like it would happen.

i rly like Vector...but sadly..i only have 1 agent..and she is on Star Forge..and im not playing there anymore ...other then that...i just romanced Theron on all my characters :/

But i am with you..i only started playing this game after kotfe came out..i was fascinated by the cinematics and couldnt wait to finish the vanilla story to start the new expansion !...and i honestly fell for Arcann from the cinematics :P ...didint rly consider him the bad guy and somewhere deep inside..i kinda knew we would be getting him as a comp

Theron, Quinn and Iresso. I like others, but there's my ultimate favourite list. I do not double up on romances though, once an npc fits one of my characters as LI it just feels like betraying that couple to get another character with the same LI. Only my clones that test the story for broken things etc for my "main story character" double up as they are considered all to be the same character with just 'what if she did this instead' thinking. One day I'll be able to swing it again and have multiples, if they start putting out more content like when in KotFE I had multiple characters per class and would have ran out of LI's!

I honestly like all the vanilla LIs that I've played. The gents are all swoonworthy in various ways, but my absolute favorites are Jorgan and Iresso.

A lot of people seem to find Jorgan's initial gruffness offputting. For me, it's part of his appeal. From the start, he's shown to insist on success and not accept excuses. He holds himself and anyone under his command to a very high standard. As soon as my trooper met him, she wanted to exceed his expectations. It was very satisfying when she did! The deeper we go into the story, the clearer it becomes that Jorgan is strict because he cares, both about his fellow soldiers and the people they serve. There's a real softie lurking underneath that tough exterior. Actually getting him to open up and show it is a triumph. Plus his voice is just hnngh.

Troopers have Jorgan from the start of the story, but consulars don't meet Iresso until Hoth. However, he is absolutely worth the wait! I find it very interesting to compare the two military men, particularly given that Iresso mentions knowing Jorgan. On being under Jorgan's command on Ord Mantell, Iresso comments "I said 'Yes, sir' when he ranted, then did what was best for the unit." Iresso is more flexible - and I tend to think that gets more from the average soldier than Jorgan's perfectionism (which probably only brings out the best in elite soldiers). Just in terms of how they deal with troops under their command, Iresso takes a very different disciplinary approach. If someone under Jorgan's command had pulled a gun on him, Jorgan would've been incandescent. He would've come down on the rebellious soldier so hard that "throwing the book at him" would be more like a ton of bricks. By contrast, Iresso calmly disarms the subordinate who points a gun at him, advises him on the nature of the mistake he's made ("talk or shoot"), and prefers chores as a punishment. Plus Iresso doesn't even dignify the subordinate's accusation of collaboration with a response. If someone had accused Jorgan of that, I can only imagine him being silent if utter outrage temporarily overcame his power of speech! It wouldn't be long before he pulled himself together and mounted a blistering verbal self-defence.

Anyway, Iresso is just that humble kind of guy. He's patriotic and duty-bound like Jorgan, but he's more compassionate and forgiving of mistakes. I feel like part of the reason why Jorgan is so unforgiving of others is that he expects perfection of himself too, whereas Iresso sees himself in a more down-to-earth way. Yet, regardless of how he sees himself, Iresso's actual actions reveal a paragon of a man. He's brave, selfless, thoughtful, and kind. He respects the consular immensely. Whenever he tries to spare her pain, it's not because he thinks she's a weak, fainting flower. He knows she's strong enough to bear all kinds of trials, but he wants to bear the pain for her because he cares. He's endlessly curious about her, always wanting to learn and share more. I cannot remember a single instance of him trying to change or control her. They have a mature, low-drama, respectful relationship of equals. And, of course, he also has a delicious voice. To me, he is perfect for her, and I cannot wait for them to be reunited.
