Completely destroys my suspension of disbelief.

I mean, "Every world that Vaylin terrorized." Really, Theron? Even you? Come on.
I agree with this. It's been discussed in other threads and I think it's spot on - that in reality I think a lot of the Alliance would have walked out when Arcann joined. They formed that Alliance to depose Arcann and Vaylin. Arcann killed many of their compatriots, destroyed their planets in some cases, and terrorized the galaxy, but he just walked into the Alliance with no punishment at all, and nobody except Lana raised even the slightest objection.
Even Koth (if he is still there) says nothing, and given how upset he is about including Senya, that makes no sense to me.

It would have been far more interesting and realistic if the decision to keep Arcann would have resulted in losing a lot of the Alliance companions. I could see Koth, Lana and Theron all leaving.

It would have made it a choice that mattered. If we kill him, they stay, if we imprison him, they stay, we take him on boards? A bunch of them leave. Certainly, we should lose all the ones we gain from the Fortress missions. They should come in together and tell the Outlander off. Maybe Senya leaves if he's imprisoned, after she wakes up. Like that.

I could see Theron and Lana staying, they're "pragmatic", but Koth? Not a chance. I guess maybe if he's the romanced character.

Yeah, it would of been more realistic is some people left the Alliance, especially those exiles you pick up in the Zakuul swamp, though I'm not sure if they make it to Odessen, or get off at Asylum.

Hadn't even considered the non-companions. Yeah, the base should have severely reduced staff. Seriously, while I don't mind either of them being alive, we should have the option of throwing them in cages and getting advice from them. Maybe when Vaylin attacks they break out and fight, but they seriously shouldn't have been walking around before that, and certainly shouldn't be once the action is done.

Of course, if Vaylin came back in any form and people find out about it, I expect more migration. And I'm fine with that. I never wanted to be in charge of that thing, anyway, they can kick me out. I'll go back to my ship, old crew, and a young woman who is either helping me crush my enemies or getting the help she was denied as a child.

If some people had left the Alliance after recruiting Vaylin, that's their business, but if they try to stand on my way..

If they want to leave after I resurrect my beloved Empress, then they're free to do so, the morgue has plenty of room for those who question my decisions .... I might have to extend it a bit though.

You're right, I need to save on resources to repair that damn wall Vaylin broke ... I'll space them instead

That would truly have made choices matter, yes, and I think it would have been a fair and realistic way to do things. Three options (save, execute, imprison) with different outcomes.

Koth and his crew really would have been out of there immediately. i could see the Zakuulan refugees (people like Malita Tal and the swamp refugees), Aric Jorgan, Aygo, and some of the others being appalled enough by Arcann's presence that they leave, and tell the Outlander off first.

I don't know that Senya's fate should have been tied to Arcann's (a lot of people have mentioned they only save Arcann because it's the only way to save her) but IMHO there should have been a separate choice to execute or imprison her, too. Looking at it honestly, she plays the Alliance for her own personal goals and betrays the Outlander, and there's a very plausible case to throw her in prison for that subterfuge.

In the game as it is, Senya attacks them with the intent to kill (and she says so), and the Outlander's really left with no choice but to defend themselves. I am fine with that and fine with killing her, but I could also understand that middle of the road option (defeating, but not killing her, during the fight and carting her off to prison).

In the real world someone like Vaylin would probably be found guilty by reason of insanity, and put in a mental hospital or rehabilitation facility. They could have sent her to some place like that, as they did with Master Surro if you choose to save her on Ziost.

That sounds like it could be a cool story.
