especially after the server merge are many teams qd,mat farmers are also always around so can we have a remove of the q times? high elo peopel are sitting generally 30mins in q for getting +2 (while an other,low rated team is qd) the game would be more alive and you would have almost instand pops (at least on darth malgus) at every time

.. only if they remove elo based matchmaking from ranked. matchup would be random in solo, the only unchanged thing would be that heal and tanks will get pops only if there are other heals or tanks in que.

same for team ranked. If high elo team gets matched up with 180 gear mat farmers. well c'est la vie.

Matchmaking only works with a good sized population. Remove it for TR. once you hit 1800 you sit 20 mins to gain 6 rating.

Well, in principle there should be good people quing Group Ranked and more teams should have high elo. Since this game is going against all principles and you only have a small band of players having high elo this is what you get!

There is no point to change the system as it is setup correctly. The problem is the game population that is not following the common sense of it!

You want high rating teams farming low rated teams with good speed. No thx, those who got hight rating must wait for other high rated teams

thats wrong,if you are the highest rated team in q,you are also forcing low rated teams,you just have to wait pretty long for a pop,at least 10-20mins so i wanted a change of the System that we dont have to wait all day long just to play some games

The game doesn't have a large enough pool of players for ELO to function properly in group ranked. You don't need to completely remove it, just accelerate the rate at which your ELO thresholds expand or increase the magnitude of the threshold change.

I used to play an RTS that had an ELO system that, while you were q'd, would show you how quickly your ELO threshold would expand and this is where I learned how ELO matchmaking actually works. If you're not familiar with this, here's an example:

Say you are 1500 rating. To start, the game will try to match you against players that are +/- a certain number, let's say 30. So for the first ELO threshold, you are matched against players that are 1470 or 1530. After some time of no pop, the threshold expands to +/- 60, so you could be matched against players that are 1440 or 1560, and so on.

There are 2 levers you can pull here to affect queue times:

1.) The speed at which the threshold broadens
2.) The magnitude of the threshold change (I used 30 in my example, but it could be +/- 50, 100, 200... etc).

This is the same system that Swtor uses. A 2k player can be matched against a 1k player, it just takes a long time for those ELO thresholds to expand or for the magnitude of the change to make a difference.

Only Bioware knows what these two variables are, but if they increased them, players would get faster games while still making an effort to match similarly rated players. This would aid both solos (in past seasons I was skipped 2-3 times before I got a game) and group ranked (the 20 minute queue time the OP alluded to). Removing matchmaking entirely would make it far too easy to win trade "qing in 3, 2, 1..."

PvP is over, we are just watching it die slowly.

From the screwing of the west coast customers, to the dominance of mercs, snipers and skanks, BioFail has continued to ruin PvP.

Already queue times are failing. Yesterday AM on SF I waiting 20 minutes for a regs pop.

90 days and we will be asking for xserver queues and merging of SS+SF and that will not help because they are driving customers away faster than they can merge servers.

And how many times have we told them ranked rewards are a motivator to queue but still they wait until the end to post rewards.

The only hope is a new dev team.

The way to fix queue times is to have quality PvP, everything else is a bandaid.

Also, ranked is rigged with a group of players sorting the top positions so the most u can get from rewards is gold tier.
