Make Shroud of Memory Available for Everyone

That's the subscriber reward system. The only difference between your model and the one they actually used is that they said, "pay before this date..." in an effort to generate immediate revenue.

I was lucky enough to be able to sub the whole time to get that reward, and the others. I was around in the game when they talked about releasing Strongholds, and etc, and how people that were subbed by a specific date would get the one on Nar Shaddaa with some unlocks, I didn't get upset because I missed out on that. I just couldn't afford a subscription at the time, I slogged through a lot of alts, and sold some stuff on the GTN and earned my credits the hard way (Way before 4.0 and beyond to earn credits is easy), and eventually was able to buy my Nar Shaddaa stronghold, and worked on unlocking all those rooms as well.

I also seen the Party Jawa achievement and yeah I wanted to be able to get it, but wasn't upset yet again because that was specific for rewards to subscribers. I've seen a lot of this over the past few years. Same with Tauntaun pets. I'd like to have them, but again they were given to subscribers for a reason. Just because I would like to have them, doesn't mean I'd want them now because it was way over the time frame for that stuff. So yeah some achievements I will not have, some I will. As for bonus content, it's like that with a lot of games to date.

Preorder and you get this this, and that, Which is what they made me think of the bonus chapter for the companion. Same with getting HK-55 in general. It was an incentive to remain active even though I'd come play once a month or so as they dropped the chapters, but yet I still remained subscribed, all because well I didn't like the perks as a preferred, and didn't want to have to find ways to get my credits out of escrow.

I didn't get the companion for the Dark vs Light event because I couldn't be bothered in all reality, but yet I still kept my subscription active, and played when I felt like playing. So really I've only been in the game for 4 years now. I don't expect to get all those rewards given out before I started to pay for my subscription. I knew the risks, and still stood by my decision at the time. My sub has lapsed a few times due to payment errors on the games end, not because money wasn't there, it just didn't go through, and I didn't know until I logged in to see that it was not active. So anything I have missed out was because I chose not to pay for a subscription back then.

Do I regret it today? Nah, life is to short to have regrets over stuff I missed out on in a game. I enjoy the time I have in it now, and the stuff I am able to do now.

Im sure i posted this before. Im of, course all for making all content avaiable to every player despite when they joined. Consumers of content they are passionate about get turned off when they are denied something. And no one really knows why Johnny come lately was not playing during certain rewards being offered through limited time. Lots of "reasonable" reasons and possibly some tragic. I understand "incenitve" to push sales etc, but life can be difficult for people. Not everyone has mommy or daddys credit card at their disposal. Anywho, i dont particularly need another HK, but another reward companion (shae vizla) would add a lot of fun for myself when playing my bounty hunter characters...
Im sure the expected responders will feel obligated to continue to "protect" their "status" and post their objections/rejections. To those that continue to want this content, dont listen to the people trying to bury these threads to prevent your wishes to be considered. Keep posting....cant be heard when your silent

I hope that BW does not cave to those with a false sense of entitlement who covet what they KNOW they do NOT deserve.

I have a small family, a mortgage, a car, and I work damn hard to have what I have, and that includes deciding what little luxuries I can afford to indulge in... and SWTOR happens to be the one I choose over, say, a movie every month.

For you to sit here and make insulting statements like this is uncalled for and pathetic. If you think the only people who are able to subscribe are using their parents' credit card is really pathetic... yet you'll advocate for having things available as direct purchases on the Cartel Market which would also require Mommy and Daddy, right? If they can't afford to subscribe without Mommy and Daddy then how can they afford a direct purchase?

People don't or can't subscribe for various reasons and if they miss something, so be it, they need to get TF over it and stop feeling sorry for themselves or have people like you saying idiotic things to placate them and make those of us who were able to subscribe and receive things somehow feel like we're the d-bags simply cuz we're able to have something others don't.

Well said. The great irony here is that the person trying to insinuate that the people who met the requirements and have the subscriber rewards are all children (as evidenced in the 'Mommy and Daddy's credit card' comment) is the one crying like a child over not having some pixels they 1) didn't pay for, 2) didn't meet the requirements for, and 3) didn't want bad enough when it was available to subscribe through the content drought, but now wants it handed to them over a year after the fact. A real adult wouldn't make such an immature fuss.

I'll say what I did in the other thread - I simply hope they retcon Shroud of Memory and write HK-55 back into the main game another way. Maybe Dr. O has found some cutting edge technology to bring back HK *with* his original memory. Solves the problem. Same way Shae Vizla appears in the main story and interacts with you regardless if you got her as a companion.

Either that, or just bring in HK-56 or 57. They've had what, three different HK models show up at various points in the game (I an counting HK-47, 51 and 55); no reason there can't be a fourth one that turns up.

This really pops up again and again. So I will say it again and again:

I do believe that it was not the greatest idea to put work, time and money into making content and then only have it available to a couple of players. I did appreciate it at the time, but I think that content should be available for everyone.

However: NOT for free.

BW should sell the chapter on the CM for the price we subs had to pay for it back then. Add a little discount and sell the chapter for 99 USD/EUR/GBP.

That CM-version of the chapter has to have two restrictions though:

1. You canNOT get Z0-0M as a companion. She remains an exclusive for the players who earned her back then.

2. You canNOT get the Jollo-deco. He remains an exclusive for the players who earned him back then.

But let me guess: "99 EUR, are you insane? I don't have mommy's credit card available." Here's my suggestion: Become a paperboy for a month and earn your own 99 EUR. That's how life works. A grand don't come for free. And neither does Shroud of Memory.

My issue with the $99 is that you didn't just pay that for the chapter; you paid that for your months of subscription and all the perks it brings. The chapter was a bonus, as others here have said.

I would think it more reasonable to expect someone to be subscribed for the same amount of time (ie, they're paying what you paid) and then pay something extra for the chapter - but not $99.
