You hardly see anyone when you're playing. Things that you can put up with in a single player game that you only play for a month are things you can't put up with if you're playing long-term such as the interface.

I have a guild, I group up and quest with them. But if you're looking for an MMO to play in the long term this is not it. The story will get old and that's all there really is to this game.
Sorry but none of what you said makes this a single-player game. Fact is you play with other people and are encouraged to do so. Just because the multiplayer aspect of the game isn't exactly how you want it to be doesn't make it a single player game.

Also speak for yourself when you say "But if you're looking for an MMO to play in the long term this is not it. The story will get old and that's all there really is to this game."
I think the game is much more than just a good story. I've not done a class quest on my main in 2 days now.

KotOR 1 was what I played through multiple times anyways
If you read the book titled "Revan" it ties in kotor 1+2 with Swtor. They're not ignoring it, it's just all of that games story arcs have been resolved.

WoW players, kotor players are one in the same in that they are in this game. if bioware wishes to keep their player base they will consider everything that EVERY ONE is requesting and how to take the best ideas and make them happen.

THAT is what really only counts. Also lets not forget all those wow players that played warhammer online back when warhammer had tons of subs... Look where its at now.
I'm not sure that having played KotOR makes anyone an elitist.

However, I'm pretty sure that KotOR vets aren't saying things like "Why can't I have a flying mount?" or "Why are there so many cutscenes?" or "Nice job Bioware, you made all classes pet classes!"

sooooooo.... I mean i don't think you have to play KOTOR 1 or 2 to understand anything in this game. It;s simple: the game takes place 2000+ years before Episode 1 and it's made by bioware with similarities to other mmo formulas. that's it.
When in doubt, AFK out... if it works in this game.

Very nice, OP. I completely agree with you.

This game has a distinct KotOR feel to it. The only thing that would make it feel more like a pure RPG would be to get rid of the random spawns, add more cutscenes, and add more named NPC's.

I'm here for KotOR 3! The MMO part is just bonus.

This may be true for you but I play on Infinite Empire server and am frankly amazed at how many other players I see when I log on. Maybe your server is underpopulated??

I never played KOTOR, but I played Mass Effect and Dragon Age, so I didn't exactly come in blind.

OP, I could not agree with you more. You summed it all up perfectly. Been thinking the same thing since I started reading the forums during the first big beta test weekend.

I think the majority of people who make this complaint are doing so because they can't just click a button and automatically be grouped with people. They have to actively socialize with other individuals to form a party.

Granted, I have no idea what the original person who made the above statement (specifically the statement the quote is referring to) really meant when he said what he said, so I could be wrong.

But even within the whole "talk to people and group up" spectrum of things (which I love btw), there are issues such as the whole instancing thing. While it might seem like a great idea, the cooldown on switching between instances suck. I wish they'd remove the cooldown when in a group or in an ops.

Nothing sucks more than spending an hour cajoling people into killing a world boss only to find that 1/3 of your operation can't down the thing with you cause their cooldown for instance switching is still up for whatever reason.

Reposting so I can give this thread 5 stars.
