I think it's simple, if you care enough for the content, you are willing to put the extra effort in, if you are not willing, you didn't care for the content in the first place.
Just like 'real life' (if anyone remembers what that is), what you put into it, is what you get out of it.
I'm not complaining that anything is hard. I'm merely answering the question you proposed to me.

My point is that earning things in game should be exclusively something you do in game. Not being subbed continuously from X date to Y date.

Now, being subbed by one specific date is one thing and something else entirely that is much more fair. However, I find that requiring a continuous sub is way too much to ask simply because things can happen beyond the player's control that can interfere with that.

In general, if someone wants something they should go out of their way to work for it or otherwise insure they meet the requirements to get it. However, this one particular example, in comparison to the player base that I've observed in this game, is one particular requirement I do not agree with.

To put it another way: I would find it much more fair for them to say "by X date, earn over 100 million credits across your legacy to qualify for this content" than it is to say "stay continuously subscribed from X date to Y date."

If only there were something like prepaid time cards which a player could purchase to ensure that nothing "beyond their control" could interrupt their subscription ans so that they remained subscribed in order to receive those rewards that required a continuous subscription.

It's not as if the player had no control over their subscription remaining continuous. Whether or not the player made use of the options available to him is entirely up to the player, not BW.

You don't know that. I saw a hint before the KOTET expansion was released. I only saw a glimpse of the name of the pack which was called "HK pack." I already got my HK-55, but I never really use him after I obtained him from the subscription reward. Anything could happen. We're gonna have to wait and see next year.

First, I never said it would not happen, only that you should be prepared for disappointment.

I would not count on seeing any of the subscriber rewards in any packs, since to date, BW has NEVER made a subscriber reward available again, by ANY means.

A hint is not even remotely close to anything resembling a promise.

An "HK pack" does not necessarily have to contain the HK-55 companion, the BONUS chapter or any of the other HK-55 themed subscriber rewards.

You are correct that we will have to wait and see, but BW's history with regards to subscriber rewards does not favor subscriber rewards being made available again.

It was now it manipulator pack now. And I think if there was a HK pack it would have to have HK-47 as a comp (he's been destroyed and rebuilt many times he's sure to come back via packs or new story if there will be one)

Yeah, no kidding eh? You'd think you were personally robbing them with how self-righteous they get.

But seriously, I wouldn't hold my breath. And however polished it may be, it can't possibly be worth sifting through threads like this to get it.

I'm honestly not sure how to feel about this. I know anyone here will be more than happy to correct me if I"m wrong, but out of all the subscriber rewards that have been offered in the game's lifetime so far, SoM's the only thing that's been story content and everything else has been cosmetic tchotchkes?

If so, for as much as the usual crowd's touting the expected 'FYGM' attitude we're so familiar with on the forums with the usual fiat statement that Bioware will never change their minds at all about subscriber rewards, I wonder if that will pan out to be the case in this specific circumstance. Yeah, the Celebration Jawa is not the completely exact thing as the Party Jawa, but for the in game achievements, it's close enough to qualify and for those who manage not to get the Celebration Jawa this time and who don't have the Party Jawa, I'd say precedent enough's been set for them to crack out a similar in function Festival Jawa or some other celebratory named Jawa to accommodate newcomers to the game.

SoM's different because it is story content. Simply by the nature of MMO membership of the usual revolving door of players coming and going and/or playing alts, the amount of people who are going to see/replay that content is going to dwindle, meaning dev resources were spent on something that's going to have a limited play/replay return on effort spent. I know the same can be said towards content like Ops with not many getting to see that content, but it's not impossible for enough like minded people to do a little reading up on a particular Ops to prepare and run a 'let's see the content' session. For as much as one of the often stated complaints about this game is lack of new story content, it's an odd choice to take a one shot bit of story content and make it so limited access.

More I think on it, I'm really not seeing the point of getting so upset at the idea of opening SoM up to others. I mean it's not like asking for allowing the cartel coin stipend open to everyone of which, yeah, I'd be getting my e-pitchfork out to join the mob saying no on that. I see no problem with them offering up a chance to qualify for the chapter on something like the anniversary of KotFE by being a subscriber on that date. That way new people who haven't even heard of the game have a chance, and it's still semi-gated by having a requirement.

I have the chapter (as I've stated many times over) and my opinion stands- Bioware made a mistake in providing playable content as a bonus to an increasingly small part of the players, they should fix this and never do it again.

inb4 you say its immature to suggest in the suggestion forum, I know its your go to.
Unfortunately rare are those (you may be the only one) who got the chapter and would like others to have it even if they did not meet requirements. The only way they could get away and fix this is the loophole. The chapter is from Knights of the Fallen Empire expansion. They can make it be included in the sale as expansion itself does not give you premium status. The other way around is BioWare getting signature approval from every single player who has that chapter, which will never happen, because unlike you, those players don't want others to have the chapter. And third way around could be BioWare giving premium status to all players that were premium for all the months to get chapter, extending their premium status by duration needed to stay premium for the chapter. Which ofc will also not happen. The only thing that will happen from all this is create topics like this, where players argue with each other as EaWare business model is the main source, the core evil, of all negativity on this forums and this particular subject, and made players turn on each other instead.
