I won't say "most," but a lot of ppl consider random ppl whispering them to be a violation of a sort. and I empathize with that. if someone wants to remind me that I'm still in tank stance at the start of NC b/c I just got out of HB, then I'm cool and blush or something. but if you just randomly start giving ppl advice in a whisper, expect to be met with resistance and/or hate -- not really b/c of what you say but the "intimacy" of a whisper. I know. I know. this kinda sounds like left field alrik point, but I guarantee you this accounts for 50%+ of the kneejerk aggression to whispered advice.

Nah, a lot of times people ask a question and when you reply with the simpliest answer (because what they asked was a ultra noob question and they try to play it off like it's a memory lapse) anyways they usually don't reply nicely even if you are friendly about it.

Yeah I have whispered people they are in wrong stance or they are missing gear or no color crystals slotted. I mean yah I get the whisper thing can be seen rudely but I dont go: /whisper randomnublet: hey d-bag wrong stance lmfao tard or whatever though granted sometimes I wish I did after they reply rudely.

Anways it's all random in the end. Some people just don't like being told what to do no matter how nice or helpful you are. Problems with authority I think.

Sounds like more of a personal problem.

No, it's a common one. Do you think people so easily relenquish their egos to be given advice by some random stranger?

I'm betting most (if not all) of the people complaining about how their advice was refused here would probably scorn any advice given to them, since they already "know how to play". That's the way it is - accepting suggestions would mean you're not as good as the other players around.

it's why a lot of ppl don't respond well to tells. label it w/e you want. doesn't change the fact that you're going to get backlash.

I'm willing to bet that 90%+ of the knee-jerk resistance to advice in this game are just people who can't take the slightest bit of criticism, even when it's phrased in the most constructive way possible. As far as whispering goes, you'd rather they did it in group-speak in front of everyone else?

ugh. I didn't recommend or condemn any course of action. I explained how and why a certain action is received and then met with another action.

but if you're asking me my preference, there's nothing I could/would say to another player that requires a whisper. while playing a game (or the 30-80 seconds before the gate drops) is the last place to try to "teach" anything that requires more than about 10 syllables.

I agree to that, and another point : How is a Newbie abvle to judge whether an advice was serious and not a troll ?
I mean, it is the very nature of trolls to give false advices and then make everybody laugh over the person who took that seriously because that person never knew it any better.

i think we need to start at listening to directions and not run around like a headless chicken. Perhaps actually try to fulfill the map objective than trying to kill the sorc healer. hell maybe just defend the damn node you capped and don't leave it out.
I would like to see the rewards removed for the losing team. No WZ comms, no progress towards dailies and weeklies and no credits ( no experience gain for under level cap). Then maybe, all the people who ignore objectives, calls and go afk might realize they are wasting their time in a WZ when they get nothing,.. out of doing nothing.

*edit* and Voting, i would like to see voting removed, it's useless. PVP shouldn't be a popularity contest.
