Pretty sure "he said, she said" describes most every thread from page one.

You can have discussions and debates without out it being "he said, she said" name calling, which is what I think was meant

Oh right, you mean back on page 1 when Trixxie and MaybeJeezeeMk1 had their little tete a tete?

Thread began that way and never changed. The tone was set from the very start.

Ok well I think we all agree that hacking exists on some level, some think it's a bigger problem than others, but I think the important question to ask is what can be done about it? I mean, I frequently see anomalies of various sorts that could be attributed to hacks but probably in a lot of cases they aren't. It's kind of annoying when they happen to be occurring at just the right time to give the opponents an advantage but then again maybe that's just when they stand out the most so people notice them more then. I would guess that there's enough actual hacking going on that it doesn't hurt to discuss it though. I have seen a lot of weird stuff and it's one thing when something odd happens on it's own but there's also certain behavioral traits I see people display when there's odd stuff going on in some cases. It's one of those things that you start to pick up on after you have been wz'ing for awhile I think.

On the other hand I'm sure there's a lot of false reports the devs have to deal with too so I actually don't report people. I'll just switch to a different toon on another tier if odd stuff is happening where I'm at.

It's a strategy that used to work well when I played first person shooters. Got some guy on your server who is just way harder to beat than everyone else? Well... there's other servers. Or in some cases there would be an admin present on the server who would tell the guy to go find another server with people on his own level and give him the boot... mainly because the admin wanted people to stay on the server.

In this case there's no admins to actively monitor the matches but there's still other servers and there's also other tiers. I don't care what side I'm playing or what level I just want some legit PvP where both teams are in the game. That's when the most exciting stuff happens, and since that's really the only way someone can take matters into their own hands that's what I do. I mean, if you think someone is hacking why keep giving them cues? Clear out that tier and keep them waiting while you bolster the numbers in other tiers that might need you.

Well, as someone who thinks 99%+ of hackusations are false positives, I suspect the *best* thing that BW could do would be to respond to that <1% in a much more timely manner. When someone posts a youtube video of some guy hovering 40m over an arena that's gone to acid - that account should be dead in under 24 hours.

Same goes for credit spammers on fleet. When the same couple of guys have been spamming for *hours* despite being reported, it reinforces the notion that people can and do get away with anything. So imaginations run wild. Fix the obvious stuff, and people will be alot less likely to attribute the borderline or unusual stuff immediately to hacking. BW doesn't have the staff any more, so put the tools in the hands of individual players (albeit with severe consequences for abuse) - at least for the spamming. Yes, I think the two are related.

Someone posted yesterday on one of my videos that they saw a hack. Because an operative i'd netted immediately rolled twice, thus it had to be either a 'glitch' or a 'hack' (spoiler alert: it was neither). And so it continues.

Played PUB side couple of days ago on TRE. Got into Queshball match. 30 seconds before it started their Sniper (engineering) was already sitting in cover on pipes (???). He dropped plasma probe to slow our team on the way down as soon as we began to jump out of respawn . Imps had 4 people from the same guild named “oo…..” something and I think I recall that the sniper was from that guild too. I might be mistaken on the latter though.

We had 1 or 2 insta-ragequits, but the rest of the team was trying to play smart and it was an equal game till 3:3. But then at some point being outnumbered our team stopped playing and we’ve lost 5 to 3. Nevertheless everyone did great on trying to play objectives and stay in game despite cheats.

Some player from our team (Sage) whispered that he had an arena against these guys (I think he was meaning 4 imp guildies from “oo…” something) and that they have a speed hacker who somehow can start the match out of respawn.

I really regret I did not bother to record or take a screenshot, but from now on I’ll have fraps on constantly.

So.. Is it a speed hack or what the hell is it?

I haven't seen people starting outside the respawn for a very long time. Bio supposedly fixed that cheat. But if it's happening again then there is another hole in the coding that is allowing them to manipulate their xyz axis positioning at the start of the match. The process is actually similar to the teleporting hack, except they've found an exploit in the code that allows them to do this and put them outside the respawn before a match starts.
So it's not a speed hack. when a speed hack stands out, you will know it. They will be zipping all over the place at a much faster speed than is possible if playing within the games mechanics.

Keep track of that guild and players. When you've gathered enough evidence, send it to Eric or Tait so that they can review it.
