Sounds to me like you want to make others miserable because you can't have fun otherwise

Bingo, you win the thread.

Exactly... and there's a reason that some games are more suited to my tastes, and some more to yours. Bolstering, easy gear acquisition, limited team sizes, lack of arenas... which one of us do you think this game is catering more towards? Why should they change it to suit you better at the cost of my enjoyment?

Why does it require a reward to be worth working towards? If you are a hardcore PvPer surely you play FOR the PvP, not for the rewards it provides? I mean.. if they gave greater reward to PvE would you go there? No.. then it's not the reward, its the fight, ergo it doesn't matter!

If you really need a goal to work towards... work towards recognition from opponents/peers, work towards being 'known'.

So you are saying I don't have the right to come to the forums to say "Hey Bioware, I enjoy your game, but I would like to see you make 'x', 'y' and 'z' changes"?

I like to pvp and sure i will do my best to get the better gear for it. However what your saying is the same **** i saw happening in aion.

If you wanna steamroll the people that dont have pvp gear yet and scare all pve'ers out of the game go play aion. Sure you and everybody else that does pvp alot will get the gear faster but i like the idea of everybody being able to get the gear they need to be active in pvp.

You make "changes" sound so innocent and simple, despite the title of this thread. To me it sounds more like a fundamental design decision... like me going to the WoW Arena forums and saying that they need to cap gear progression now and stop making PvP all about gear.

4. 60 Valor rank takes less then a week

What's left for the hardcore PvP'ers to work towards, a BM set that's negligibly better?

I'm bored to tears with the PvP, I don't see SWTOR having staying power for anyone that's even a casual beyond 3 months.

Give me something to work towards BW, I'll even settle for a ranking system.
So what you're saying is that based on your observation and that of others, easy to obtain gear is going to lead to you getting bored?

If you want to grind more gear, start working on PVE gear.
If you want to PVP, quit complaining about the gear that you must already have. Then, go use your skills against players instead of NPCs (the important part of PVP) and quit QQ'ing on the official forums.

No objectives also turns world pvp into a mid pull gank fest. I'm amazed that no one has really copied the successful world pvp model that was in Dark Age of Camelot over 10 years ago.

This game + a planet devoted entirely to pvp and no pve with large bases and outposts to take over that when owned and controlled by a guild give bonuses to the entire team would be absolutely amazing.

You looking at it wrong. PVP needs reward, but why gear? Just because it was like that in WOW?

Were talking about an aspect of a game where player fight each other to prove skill teamwork, and knowledge.

What gear is is a factor that screw this up. Why should a player have to wait to compete because the reward system is f'd up? Why should a player need to be limited because they don't pvp as much? You can do other thing for entitlement, hell if all that mattered was looks, BIOware could solve this by having a customization system with item unquie to certain achievements in PVP but gear?

PVE's model is different for a reason. Gearing up is part of accomplishing the large content with a perk you get to show off stuff that players haven't gotten yet.

PVP's model should not follow this. The achievements are different, the goals are different.

At least let your peers compete with you based on skill choices not game progress.

You have a right to say anything, within the TOS of this private forum. You DON'T have a right not to have people tell you that your ideas are wrong-headed, difficult to implement, or bad for the game.

Contrary to what your kindergarten teacher and self-esteem counselors may have told you, there ARE such things as bad ideas, stupid opinions, and dumb questions. "It's my OPINION" is not a get-out-of-criticism-free card. Opinions -- at least, worthwhile opinions -- are conclusions based on an intersection of facts and goals. If the opinion you express conflicts with the facts upon which you claim to base it, or does not lead to the goal you claim to desire, it can and will be torn into itty-bitty shreds and stomped on.
