I am though.

Zanya does have a bit of a point. There are many (not all, just a seemingly strong vocal majority) who feel that whatever special thing they did to earn a certain reward means that they alone deserve to own said item and who'd raise hell if that item suddenly became available to every new kid on the block. Certain people are so wrapped up in measuring their own 'importance' within the game and community based on how long they've been a sub, when they first joined the game, what they've achieved in game and so forth and that's something I simply do not understand. I'm not saying that to be judgmental or offensive by any means it's just an attitude I can't wrap my head around. I don't care what I do have that others may not have. If it appears on the CM tomorrow so that everyone else can get it too then coolbeans, nice for those people. If HK-55 shows up on the CM suddenly, or the Arbiter's lightsabers suddenly go on direct CM sale whereas I've opened several hypercrates for it.. oh well? I don't understand the fuss.

Well, when they say "exclusive" it means exclusive.

Agreed ... as to both types of "entitled" players: Those who derive some sense of validation from possessing what others do not and those who demand they should receive benefits for which they do not qualify.

By all means, put everything in the Cartel Market. It will mean more sales and (I hope knowing I do so foolishly) reduce the whiny "I deserve such-and-such!" threads. I have unbounded faith in the player population of any MMO to find something about which to claim some form of entitlement.

I don't have a problem with it, as long as they don't bill things as "exclusive" first. They have been very good about that so far, they don't release stuff that was a one time deal. I don't see why they'd change that now because some people who didn't feel the need to pay at the time didn't.

I agree with you that the label of something being exclusive means it ought to stay exclusive otherwise it eventually winds up as false advertisement and nobody enjoys that.

There is a flip side to all of it though. The basic presumption is that a person "didn't feel the need to pay" for something at the time. Now the OP states he used to play the game prior and simply didn't keep up with it's updates and therefore missed out.. THAT is on him entirely and gains no sympathy from my end. However there are also people who didn't know of the game's very existence until recently. Who perhaps only just now reached an age at which their parents are allowing them to have their own sub and play. Who've only just emerged themselves into the world of MMO's and missing out on previous items because of it isn't a case of not caring or unwillingness to pay. It tends to be assumed that every single player had the past x amount of years to get something and they simply didn't bother whereas many are genuinely new to the game. They see someone else with something they like and then wish they too could obtain said item. Should they never ever get a chance at it simply because 4 years ago their parents deemed them too young to play the game? That's what makes this a tricky subject for me because things aren't always that black and white.

One other thing I notice among people who have him, myself included, is that they are unsatisfied with how much story and interaction we get with him, but here's the thing. Why would Bioware devote any more time and resources to further developing a character that only a minority of their playerbase have access to? They're not going to drag John DiMaggio back in the recording booth just for us. If he were available to everyone who reached chapter 9, then maybe, just maybe, we might get some more Nico content somewhere down the road, but those odds dip to zero if he remains an exclusive.

More importantly, opening him up for players to earn him through KotFE would encourage more people to play more characters through the expansion, spending more time (and money) in the game, which would be a lot better for Bioware than the strictly short-term boost making him an exclusive gave them.

But some people don't care. They want their shiny to stay rare and exclusive so they can have something to hold over other players because being able to have him from Lv 1 just isn't enough of an exclusive for them.

It's really the ultimate Sith attitude of hurting the Empire for just a tiny little bit more personal gain and glory.

Yes, and that sucks for them, but it is a good thing all these items are essentially cosmetic, except the holo-statues. You do not need them, they don't make you better, they are just "looks".

This is nothing new - I can't get a Party Jawa now; and never could because I wasn't playing at the time. There's a mess of pets and mounts that were given out as promos for one thing or another that I can't get. The pocket training holostatues are basically inaccessible to new players. There are armors and weapons that were limited in availability, and are no longer available. These are all, in the language of TVTropes, Gone Forever.

There are more available companions now than you can shake a blaster at. Once Chap XI launches, you can have more "story" companions than you can use (6 deployed, 1 fighting). Even if you don't do To Find A Findsman or collect the KotFE versions of the ship droids.

So ... I take it you don't wish to donate to the "New Player Care Package" containing all the items, pets, mounts, titles, etc., a new player has missed? Yeah, me neither.
