Bioware bases the content it releases PURELY off metrics, not what the community wants. When you have things like 12x XP, so everyone goes and plays story to level alts, it skews the metrics and makes it appear that story content should be the #1 focus of the game.

If you want real change to the content that's being prioritized and released (in terms of new content and fixing bugs), then what you should be doing is encouraging more people to play ops, and for those who play ops to do it more often. The more time people spend in Flashpoints and operations, the more it skews the metric in favor of group content, the more likely Bioware is to make new content.

If you want something you gotta work for it. If you're sick of ops, you gotta keep doing them to get the new ones. If you're bored, find a way to make them fun. Have server competitions. Who can down Malaphar the fastest or whatever. That kind of thing.

That's how it works. Unsubbing and stopping playing ops is merely going to make things WORSE.

This is mostly a reasonable statement. I say mostly because of a couple issues I have.
First, I cannot run ops with "elites" because I refuse to run voip, because frankly I'm tired of hearing a hour or two worth of geek fights over stuff that has nothing to do with the op. And honestly, knowing the fight goes farther than being able to tell another person in your squeaky voice that the boss is channeling when it's on my screen too.
Secondly, pugs are horrid right now. Too many group where people don't know or don't do their roles. Too many people queueing without proper gear. When it says 212 recommended, why the hell are you queueing in 192 or worse?
I voluntarily gave up on ops because of these community issues more so than mission glitch issues. Perhaps a nice group of players who are willing to work together would be nice, but I'm not so hopeful.
Old enough to have watched and miss Star Wars when it was not Episode IV, just Star Wars.

This is completely misguided. I'm supposed to continue paying despite their complete disregard of what I enjoy. And on top of that I'm supposed to run a ton of operations that I'm sick and tired of running just under the hope that BioWare gets their heads out of their a**** and actually supports it. No, no I won't. I'll go someplace else and they can figure out why people are leaving.

Edit: that and knowing them, that would only encourage them that what they're doing is working.

The additional number of people leaving due to a disaffection towards Bioware's lack of new PvE content isn't statistically significant.

You're fighting an algorithm with an opinion. That's like banging on a stone wall with a sword expecting to knock it down. Unless you're playing Age of Empires, it's not going to work.

Firstly, that's an assumption that the number of people dissatisfied is insignificant. Secondly, you missed my point.

I understand your point. My point is that it doesn't matter if we're bored and don't want to support something that's not supporting us as a community, because it's simply not going to make an actual difference.

It's like not voting. If you want to make a difference, you actually have to go out and cast your vote for what you think will make said difference. By not voting, your voice isn't being heard. What content you play in this game is what you vote for.

Oh come on, its a commonly known fact that BW can't touch the code to their own game without breaking literally everything else

The reason that there main focus is story and not PvE is because more people want more story that the truth.

Even though that's probably true, IMO their current direction is going to tank their game. Story won't keep people's attention, especially 15 minutes of mediocre story a month.

They can tell a story through group content too, like the Shadow of Revan flashpoints, or the original series of flashpoints (Revan flashpoints and the Illum flashpoints).

Honestly I would love to have a storyline that involved flashpoints again, so you could solo them with Jesusbot, or do it with a friend, and they'd be repeatable (somewhat) too.

I'll be honest, I never looked. My advanced degrees are in fields completely unrelated to anything Bioware would hire for... unless they want to make a game that revolves around International Relations. I looked up when George Smith left though, it was in December.
