The downside would be that half of PvP games wouldn't start because one side would reckon they couldn't win. In my book, some PvP getting stomped is better than no PvP at all...
I just sigh and grind through it at this point.

Sometimes we get lucky and the premade get too cocky, they don't bother going to the sides and lose them along with the game.

Sometimes Pugs aren't complete **** and call incs, and sometimes we three cap the premade which makes them rage quit.

But this is like 1% of the games, the rest are roflstomps.

I've been on both sides of the coin. People from my server who have been around a long time know who I am, though I don't pvp nearly as often anymore, basically for the reason that its typically premade or bust. Do I like to group up with friends sometimes and do games? Sure, but does it get boring if we stomp out our wins? You bet. But then you try to queue up solo, and you realize you only have about a 10% shot to win most games, 0% if the premade on the other team really plays to win.

The problem is exactly what others have said, too many people don't play for competition, they play purely to stomp others. Mixed with a decent amount of new players who don't know what they're doing, and some jaded vets who don't care at all if they win or lose and simply queue up out of habit, and you wind up with wildly unbalanced games that just continue on.

Ranked proves one thing, and that is, mixing the solo and group queues would NOT kill PvP. What it would do, is kill grouped PvP, but that's entirely the fault of the groups, not splitting the queues, because all it does is expose that most people do not group up to "even the odds", but rather to stomp pugs.

On my server, we have done things like ranked kickball before. The people interested in good competitive games typically take part. There's definitely a few who I know would never do something like that, and it is what it is.

Also, please, when people suggest there's a problem with premades, don't respond that they should quit or whatever stupid canned response you have for them. If that were the case, you'd have nobody to pug stomp, and the only people you'd get to play against are those same groups that you're too scared to queue team ranked and face.

I had a great random arena the other day. My team lost 2 games to 1, but it basically played out like a team ranked match. I don't like arenas (I'm not a fan of the deathmatch gameplay type), but I wish I could have all my games played as well as that even if I lose half the time. I know that's not realistic, but at the least, the odds of how your games go would fall a lot more in that 50/50 region if premades in regs weren't a thing.

I'm not against premades but clearly there are several types of premades, unfortunatly the tank tank healer healer 4 dps que syncers give all premades a bad name.
The devs don't care. LOL It's the very simple truth. They just....don't.
You can run, but you'll just die tired.

You're playing a game where people are encouraged and expected by design to group up and play with each other wether it's regs or rated it doesn't matter group play is essential to a high win rate it's how the game has been made
If you cannot handle or understand that this is the intended design of the game then find something else to play
Because it's crazy that people are complaining about this in a game that at its core is based on group play.

So
Remove
Solo
Queue

If solo queueing was never intended to be viable remove it, or *********** fix the matchmaking in regs.

You're not. Every time I queue, I hope to get a premade on other side. If even half your team is competent, you can get a win. Best feeling ever.

I really don't understand a lot of players who only want easy games and free wins.

It is a great feeling, but also impossible when multiple premades are on the other side.

When players on our side see that they drop the match immediately, because it's just not worth the trouble.

I fail to see how group queuing is an exploit. This is an MMO so like I said earlier, PvP is always going to be unfair.
Success or failure, its up to you.

It's not exactly an exploit, but it tends to hurt the already non-existent balance of classes in 8s when you have multiple healers stacked.
