The current purple max lvl augments have a minimum level of 64. I don't think BW will introduce a new tier of augs and aug kits until the next level increase.

Well, if the whole move is dedicated to letting people craft 208 hilts and barrels, that's a relief, but astoundingly over-complicated.
Deal.

I am also wondering about the max level augments. Is it going to be a new tier? MK 9? Or are we going to unlearn some schematics we then have to rebuy from the trainer? If they are moving any schematics, I wonder if any of those I bought off the GTN I will have to "relearn" once I get to 550.

I hope instead of moving schematics, they just give us whole new ones. But, this is BW, and what we hope matters little.
Let's bring on a real PVP tournament! Check it out, comment, add your support or non support. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=868431

They need to increase the level cap with every chapter by one and with new gear - that would be epic

Makes me glad I hardly bother with getting anything beyond the most basic crap these days.
Thanks for showing us you listen to our feedback, Bioware!

Oh, totally. And every time we'd go through the same process of losing the spells and then re-acquiring them. The joy of getting Shoulder Cannon never ends. Fracking A.
Deal.

They can and should add basic 208 items requiring skill 500 using existing materials, which they should have added back when 4.0 launched.

Upping the skill requirement to 550 and adding new materials is NOT NEEDED at all.

My bet is we will lose all our existing 208+ skill level 500 schematics and be expected to buy the schematics again at 550 (or RE operations gear at 550) to re-learn schematics to continue making stuff we can already make today.

The summary at Dulfy certainly reads very, very threatening and I hope my imagination is not becoming true.

What I read out of it is:
- New Skill level of Crafting is 550 and 550 is needed to make the best augments as also augments and kits will be upped one step (mk-8 to to mk-9 and XX augment 40 to xx augment 44 or something)-

So, this does read like our existing augments and augment kits will suddenly become second - tier. Even when I agree with everybody that for the current content first tier augments will not be necessary, if this actually happens it will feel like taking away something from me.
We are all used to the MMO (and other games) level increase formula that has our old gear devaluated by introducing new character and gear levels. But to devaluate existing gear by an upgrade to crafting I have never ever experienced somewhere else.

If this happens I will be royally pissed off even though I have the ressources to get all my toons into new augments the first day (assuming java scrap may be used to get the needed mats)

What's next?! Oh, I know! Going to level 70, by scaling back the power of each character to slightly below where they were at 65 with a Utility point... wait for it!!! Every TWELVE levels, not TEN!

Way to go, BioWARE! That's the kind of new content we all were clamoring for here!

Two regearing a year is not ENOUGH! IT gotta be 3 or better even - 5! With every new 30 min chapter!

That takes the cake. Absolutely.
Chill out my Domi

You should see this other mmorpg. Regearing every 3-4 months. On top of that, every six months a new super op class is released. You guess it right. It's that game called Tera. Obviously, they are releasing new classes every six months and make it op in order to milk the current player base, which is force to play said op class to be competitive and if they want to do it in style they will buy from the cash shop.

I don't play this game any more, almost a year since I quit, but I do check the forums for the entertainment value. So you see, my little Domi, swtor gear progression and the op healers, sages, is nothing compared to what is happening in Tera. I read the new brawler class can 1 vs 3 players easily. A tank class that does more damage than any other class, it does almost twice as much damage than any other class and it's supposed to be a tank class. It has self heals. So, when I hear people say regearing and over power class in swtor I smile a little knowing there are lot worst mmorpgs out there. It's a shame for the people that are still addicted to that game. Guess they will learn a life long lesson when it comes to video game companies.

100% THIS !

The whole *********** expansion was about taking something away from you, forcing you to grind to get it back (Abilities, Utility Points, Companions). And now it seems they will do the same with crafting. Also, re-gearing (even if it's only the augments) 3 months after a level increase which also included a re-gearing is a totally no-go in an MMO for me.

And I won't be surprised if they gate the new crafting materials behind the KotFE storyline, forcing all crafters to get through the story with every *********** crafting alt, because there are a lot of people refusing playing the story after they've done it with 2 or 3 chars.
