I am reliving Christmas 2014 all over again and why I unsubbed for 9 months between the lack of content (SOR done in 5 hours with little to no replay value), stupid decisions and rampant exploits (Ravager) that are not really taken care of. I am looking at that unsub button once again, but this time probably for good.

And it will be a glorious place without exploiters. All hail the New World Order!

Of course, the majority of the playerbase may not have done the exploit, and only the guilty minority will be purged.

It sounds incredibly guilty to try and project that the majority of people exploited when theres no evidence of that. "I exploited, so the majority of the playerbase must have." Or something along those lines.

It is really a three week package.

1. Companion nerf that starts a riot.

2. Backtrack.

3. What seems to be a shockingly foolish "decision" given to the NiM raider community that has an afterthought vibe to it.

4. A super hyped mystery that turns out to be HK-55. After HK-51. After a perfectly poignant moment with 55. With a gimmicky feeling 6 month thing for 55. All the way around giving a sense of, uh, what?

5. Dragging their feet on what is the most, literally the most toxic sort of bug there is. Not hot fixing it.

All this in three weeks time?

I've been playing these games since MUDs, was a beta tester for Ultima Online. Never in all that time, in twenty years have I seen so many *** things by a team to throw gasoline on its player base in so short a time. And man I've seen some really strange dev teams have some major blunders.

Never, ever this much in so short a time.

Just three weeks ago I was strongly defending the dev team and mocking people calling for people to be fired. But serious business a shakeup is needed no foolin around. One that includes personnel changes.

"Everyone else does it" is a common "defense" used by certain types of people when caught doing something wrong.

So is blaming others for "allowing" the offense to happen in the first place.
Maxim 37: There is no overkill, there is only "Open Fire" and "I Need to Reload."

^ quoted for truth...

However, it might not be the devs, it may well be management that needs to go. The actual programmers likely can only work on what they are assigned to work on and each one can only do so much in a day. Too many managers overestimate what it takes to get "simple" things done and that making the change is 5% of the work, making sure it doesn't break everything else is often far more work.

Without being there, I don't know what needs to change, but clearly something does. It almost feels like they are developing by random dart board tosses.

I suspect part of the problem is the head person in charge either doesn't know what they are doing or has lost control of the team, or they DO know what they are doing but lack the resources to make it happen.

If they only have a dozen programmers left, then they simply don't have enough people to both maintain the game and launch new content.

Yeah guys... Please, just don't auto-ban anyone, who bought large amounts of stacked items from vendors, without a proper investigation? I wouldn't like to get banned again. On the other hand those 3 weeks of sub in apology was a nice gesture.

Well I didn't play much this weekend, but found it pretty darn funny that since NIM yellow post the exploiting went into overdrive on Monday. In fact people just flat out went balls to the walls and posting in general chat "HOW TO".... the masses of players that did see that I'm sure jumped right on that train.

The new world order might only be a few people left.. LOL

Delete all their characters, and flag them for never undeleteing them. They will either ban themselves (quit - good riddance!) or they'll hurt hard enough to not do it again.

I know, it was a poorly formed joke.

The perpetrators involved actually committed wire fraud, and copyright infringement. A felony. Eric, send a real message; jail time.
