It seems it's easy to pick out those where most of their MMO experience, and probably their only significant MMO experience, was in WoW. They seem to think WoW is the only way to do an MMO, and anything any game does differently than WoW is a flaw.

Get over it, go back to WoW or deal with the fact that this is NOT WoW with starships and lightsabers, will never be WoW, and most of us don't want it to ever become WoW.

WoW was a phenomenon. But the WoW juggernaut is slowing down. Maybe that's why you are here. Even you know WoW's best days are well behind it. Now we are watching the slow bleed of a game past it's prime. Now you are searching for it's eventual replacement.

Well, this ain't it.
Yes it is....

Raids. Check.

Hardmodes. Check.

Battlegrounds. Check

Everything you need to enjoy endgame is there, plus you have a bunch of single player missions. It's WoW and more.

I don't think giving an example that had to go F2P because of lack of subs bolsters your argument well.

In your opinion. I've been in beta since last December and have yet to skip a single cutscene. I love it.

Solo RPGS start at 1, MMORPGs start at 50. That is where you will be spending 99% of your time.

I am admittedly giving the game another shot but I am so amazingly tempted to just do the story quests and totally skip all the side quests conversations.

The sheer amount of time it takes to listen to all the quests is aggravating when the quests themselves can take 5 minutes to complete.

On a serious note, do you mean to say there's more to this game then cutscenes, dialogue, and the tedious WoW quests?
I certainly do. Here are just a few, but this is BY NO MEANS a complete list.
  • Gathering
  • Crafting
  • Space Missions (But I agree that they need serious work)
  • Exploration (Numourous hidden content that many have missed because they just want to Pew Pew)
  • Reverse Engineering (Craftable Improved Items)
  • Trading Economy

I would bet that there are level 50's out there that don't even know that you can gather resources, both spawned and from creature kills, to craft with.

I would also bet that MOST level 50's haven't completed that majority of the exploration achievements in thier ruish to be 1337!

I would also bet that many of those who whine about the cost of "respecing" skills haven't looked at the real opportunities to make money in this game.

I am so bored of hearing all this complaining and ************ from people about how bad this game is.

Yes, there are bugs, there are glitches, but I have yet to come across ANYTHING that has proven to be game breaking. 1 game crash in the last 2 weeks isn't an issue to me; I played SWG and boy, did we know about game crashes!!!

Performance wise, I have a pretty new, high spec PC, so I don't see any issues, but my son is playing on a 1 year old Dell laptop and he's seeing no issues, even though his spec is quite borderline on some aspects.

My opinion on this is that Bioware's best bet is to add in new planets with epic story lines, try to spruce up the questing mechanics and make it more varied. They MUST keep up the quality of the voice acting/cutscenes.

If they where to do that and also add story heavy operations in the vein of the first instance you run black thorn i think. That would satisfy me as long as they can keep up the quality and still find time to work on things like pvp/world pvp and fixing outstanding issues.

It's only been a week since the game has been out and already they have released a nice patch full of bug fixes. As long as they stay on the ball, I'll stay as well. The game is fun and im enjoying myself alot.

IS 1 million and growing rapidly a "lack of subs"?

i think Klarick is on to something. I agree from the moment i stepped into the game i felt involved with the game world and "grinding" through levels feels ...well ..not like grinding if that makes sense.

Swotor is not perfection in a mmo but it has got my attention and im enjoying every step torwards 50

I agree and being as they have already anounced that there will be a new planet in the new year I think you hit the nail on the head!
