Why is nobody asking for advice on how to play?

Because they already know how to play but when the game gets hard it's clearly the games fault. Never their own.

With 4.0 companions comes complaints that players just followed their companions through the game and end game groups are full of toons in level 20 gear who don't know what an interrupt is. With 4.2 companions comes complaints that players liked the overpowered companions and die from a mosquito bite now. There will never, ever be a situation where everyone is happy.

So you play the game you have, not complain about the game you want. Or keep looking for the right game for you.
I would wager that there were lvl60+ who didn't know their class because BW gave out 'Start at 60' tokens, so people took the chance to be a different class, as well as completely new players who hadn't gone from 1-60 to learn. That was a business decision on BWs part.

Pride and egotism. Its too hard to admit that I don't excel at the game because I click my skills, I don't use keybinds, I never heard of gaming mouse, I don't know what an interrupt is, it would take me 3 seconds to find and click my cc breaker, I turn with A and D, I back-peddle, I think I can mitigate damage from mobs if I kite them at a safe enough distance, I don't know what a defensive cooldown is.

No, its much easier to say: the game is too hard, and its far too easy to point to the last 30 days of the game's life and say: "That was the way the game was always meant to be" - Its too easy to claim that only 'no-lifers' with super raid gear can compete with these computer controlled enemies, that elitists are ruining the game, and they should just stop ruining the game because they are ruining the game. Its too easy to say No one ever asked for level synch, and if I want to kill an entire planet with one aoe before the channeled animation even begins you cant stop me or I quit.

Yet again, just because crap takes longer doesn't mean it's more difficult. I don't see why people keep thinking this.
What specifically takes you longer and why?

I have asked folks this and no one will share specifics. Because, for me, planetary heroics are not taking longer at all. I literally saw no difference at all. I don't have to stop to heal after fights, I don't kill any slower. I am happy to share my experiences, but I can't because no one will give specifics.

One guy recently stated that he got destroyed by a spawn in Makeb. I responded to him and asked him how he approached the fight. I wanted to see if I could help him. He assumed I was saying L2P. I can see how he would think so given the toxicity of these forums right now, but it's not true that everyone is simply objecting to the tedium.

Really? Nice cherry pick, how about commenting on the rest of the post? It wouldn't have carried the same zing? So here's one example, claiming success, in how many posts? 100? 500? Doesn't seem to make me completely full of it, in fact, it seems to bear out what I was saying in the first place, so thanks?

Because most stuff is still doable, it's just incredibly tedious and making a grind even more boring is not what I consider fun. And for the stuff that *is* genuinely challenging.... I already know the answer is gonna be crap like "learn to keybind!!!111!" and wow, really, that had not occurred to me at all, if only I had the coordination to do so and didn't still need to actually stare at the keyboard to hit the right keys (hopefully) after years of typing! Like, dude, on bad days I can barely click properly, and any and all attempts at keybinding have ended in loudly yelling "oh, **** this" because I simply just cannot do it.

It's all moot anyway. Clearly quite a lot of people are not having fun with the current setup. The solution isn't to yell at them about how they should play (and quite frankly, outside of content specifically made just for groups that shouldn't matter, it's a game, not a job) but to come up with something that allows the maximum number of people to have fun. Maybe some way to set how strong we want our companion? Influence could have been that but I don't see a big enough difference in performance (and we gain at least a few levels just doing the story, too, so it would never have been a perfect solution).

What specifically? Like can you point to a specific Heroic mission that is "incredibly tedious"?

^^^This, really. If they can't mash random keys while doing something else, they're not interested, and they'll be the first to quit once the newness wears off.
