MVP votes

The MVP system is only in place to discourage the "You're all terrible because you can't cap X Y or Z" people. If you're mean to people in WZ's they're not going to vote you MVP, the actual benefits of being MVP are likely very minimal.

Some people say that if you are only doing DPS, you aren't contributing. Other people say if you are only healing, you aren't contributing.

I'm not saying that healers aren't needed by some people, but they aren't the end all be all of the game in any aspect. It takes healers, and killers, to win.
hes not a dps though, hes a tank, all 3 are needed to really rope in the game, all 3 need to be good, but healers are the linchpin without healers you can only go so far. And btw I am quite a bit like this Baron guy, i roll tank, have massive hp and defensive abilites, takes quite a few people a very long time to kill me. I have saved people with taunts, well timed pushes changing up my guard. But I dont assume I will ever get mvp over a healer, because the healer is that linchpin.

I see what you're saying. Baron though, is DPS. He always has the most kills and DPS.

Personally, I don't care if I get MVP. I just don't agree with people thinking healers are the most important aspect of PvP. It's a team effort.

Without the DPS, you can't win. Period. You wouldn't even make it a challenge for the other team.

Without heals, you can still win, and give the other team one hell of a fight. ALTHOUGH, if the other team has very skilled healers, they will most likely win, but it's not guaranteed.

I usually get 2-3 MVP votes per game. My Commendations for a HuttBall win tend to start at ~60-70 and get knocked up to around 80-85, think I saw a 90~ one time.

So basically seems it's around +5 commendations per vote, alongside a small (low hundreds) increase to Credits etc.

As far as earning MVP votes - I give my vote to whoever I feel was the biggest credit to the team. Someone caps the ball 3 times? Defuses multiple bombs? Helps hold middle turret instead of farming kills? MVP.

Basically I give it to whoever I felt contributed most to the team winning - Not whoever gets the most Damage/Kills etc.

Seems fair to me. Do you know accurately what the MVP votes give the person? Such as more valor, xp, etc?

i wish they would add objectives to the scoreboard such as bases assaulted / defended or touchdowns scored or even complete passes / receptions.

since im sith most of my bg exp so far has been huttball. i tend to try to give my mvp vote to people that are thinking ahead and putting themselves in good positions to pass/catch the ball for the score and not so much the guy sitting by the ball spawn shooting who he can to rack up the meter

only time i give top healing the mvp vote is when no one fits the criteria i just stated which is sadly quite often

It's +50 valor points and +1 commendation per mvp vote gained.

Afraid not - Hopefully someone else can post more accurate numbers but if not I'll try and see next time I'm online (won't be until late tomorrow though).

Won alot of my matches without any healers (i dont consider 2 players doing 40k heals healers). So, no, healers aren't necessary, as long as you have a competent group that can spot other team's healers fast enough to stop them. intelligent players > healers, no matter the role.
