You haven't replied to anything or even responded. Even when I ask you directly why are you ignoring it. My comment was about experience gain and companions. I'm done talking to you for now. You refuse to comment on what I said because you have no reasonable answer...I thought you wanted a "discussion"..truth is you know I'm right that's why you can't answer. Have fun cherry picking other peoples responses.

This is actually a pretty good question, sarcastic remark aside. I wonder how much an impact their cantina events have. They have been claiming in Fallen Empire launch interviews they're all about wanting to listen to player feedback going forward.

I don't honestly think they pay attention to the feedback delivered here.

this thread is about communication, not experience gain or companions.

and you still continue to claim to know what a majority of swtor players think after playing the game for 2 weeks.

you can't have a discussion when you think you have all the facts when all you have is confirmation bias and nothing to stand on.

Let me get me this straight...people create five threads on same topic. I seen you post daily to one thread then go straight to other thread on same topic..even though in OP he mentions "OP companions" so yes its relevant because everything in this discussion isn't in the "thread title" its in his post. That means its relevant to the thread. So please stop. I'm just going stop responding to you this is simply ridiculous.

I will repeat what I said to the general people. Exp Gains and Companions if you nerf that it isn't going to make the game more of a challenge. It's simply time consuming. A challenge would be if you had a hard boss fight that required you to go through a puzzle in order to beat him. For example running around him and focusing on attacking from behind then in the second phase doing something else.

Time consuming is just that.
The trash is still going to die. It's simply going to take longer and with less experience its going to take longer to farm it. None of that is a challenge. It is simply ridiculous for some of you. Not all. Claim want a discussion then when provided with a good solid answer you can't refute like that one poster you simply ignore the question claiming its not relevant to the thread.

The post above on page 20. The poster asked a question that wasn't relevant to the thread. Yet refused to answer mine because claimed it wasn't relevant. Then why ask this question. Just an attempt not to answer to have it both ways.

Yet that poster "asked me where data was to back that up" even though that's not relevant to thread. That right there proves willing to answer questions only when they believe they are right. Have fun rest of you. I' going to read my book.

Obviously I have no right to demand folks stay on topic. However, I would appreciate it if you guys did just that.

So please....here is the topic in a nutshell.....

Bioware continues to have communication issues. They chose to keep most information about the level sync system close to the chest, and in that information vacuum speculation ran wild.

Now, right now, folks are spreading fallacies across the net about the system, and because there is little to no information to refute it it has gained momentum.

I believe this was an error....level sync is a SUBSTANTIAL change to the game, so substantial IMO that it should have had an open discussion ACROSS THE NET, not just here. In fact, they should have done some press on it, perhaps a few interviews....tell people a few important things before it was released, like......

1) The level sync drops you to a level that is max for the planet, right at the border of when mobs would normally become grey. You are usually 2 to 5 levels above all enemy mobs.

2) You keep all of your special abilities despite the fact you are reduced in level.

3) Companions have received a HUGE strength boost to help compensate for the level sync system. (this is speculative of course, this may not be the reason)

If they adjusted aggro range, IMO, it would be perfect. That is just my view, I realize folks have other issues with it, but that is my take.

Had they communicated this in the market, on websites and the like the current diatribe against level sync outside the game and this forum could have been avoided IMO.

this thread is about bw communication. none of the above has anything to do with bw communication.

if you'd like to discuss companions, or experience, perhaps you should make another thread about it.

you are back-pedalling pretty hard here. perhaps you were asked "where is your back-up" to shut down the ridiculous, off-topic derailing attempt you were making to make this about you dismissing everyone that disagrees with you by hiding behind the term "majority". which is something you do in every single post since you started played swtor two weeks ago.

it definitely seems to me that their lack of communication had motive. it was part of the plan, so to speak, as opposed to just being incompetent.

even comparing to SoR, they seemed to share a lot more in advance. Especially the controversial utilities change. They were even giving demos or new animations, etc.

with kotfe, they tried a different model with the "free for subs" strategy, and in this case, remained silent as long as they could to increase subs, then smash us all in the face with controversial changes at the last minute.

/end thread

I started playing at the end of May on a f2p account. If I had known what this so-called expansion was all about I would not have dropped a 6 month sub. To me, communication with your player base is key.

To be fair, if there would have been more communication, I might have been more accepting. However, I feel that they wanted to pad their subscriber numbers and make a cash grab before KoTFE hit. That kinda leaves a bad impression.

Communication wise, on the subject of the changes for KotFE and the lack of follow-ups made on various topics dropped right before the launch, suggests that it was deliberate. I still personally think (the cynic in me here) that was deliberate to "bait and switch" the game we knew, to the game we now have.

Had I known in advance about Level Sync and some of the other changes, would I have stayed as a subscriber for the 4 months prior to KotFE? Nope.

It isn't just on the issue of KotFE though, that's just the cherry on top of the cake. It's been happening on other topics, where the standard operating practice is to simply "go silent" on whichever issue is causing the largest feedback. I don't even get the impression that they're listening, more like it's "lalalala we're not listening to the players or customers on this issue". Even if they posted that they're unlikely to change something, based on the feedback they're being given - and took the time to set out some of the reasoning behind this, it's unlikely to appease all of the players. The Cartel Slot Machine fiasco / Ravagers Exploit are prime examples of this.

I don't personally take issue with those topics too much, it's the lack of information and following up on that information to respond to customer concerns that I take issue with far more. Such as Crafting Changes, Level Sync and a multitude of changes made within SWTOR in this expansion - they're a good starting point where BioWare could step up to the mark and start talking to it's customers.

Not just responding in the Cartel Market topics (we get it BioWare, you're a business).

Maybe level sync doesn't work as intended in some places (for example Sith Warrior story ending)

But I just finished JK story (again) and I have to say level sync worked perfectly. I got scaled back to 52 from 62. Best part: I had to actually do the fight mechanics right again instead of just brute forcing it with pure damage.
