Vanguards in 3.0 and 4.0 are just simply overpowered... This is a petition to put necessary nerfs into place to put this class where it belongs ... for the health of the game... sign below if you agree and lets make this game the best it can be!

They're the ultimate group ranked dps class right now because their toolbox is ridiculously overfilled. They need to give up something, I think it should be damage reduction while stunned. Double/tripple carbonize has been the meta for way too long and it's sad that in order to counter that, mirror comping is often a good idea since carbs on powertechs don't hurt nearly as much as every other class.

I agree I just think that the return on investment is too easy for a class that is so easily played... It should be hard to do the damage a vanguard does... and it simply is not...

It is a bit complicated, cuz balance is not just based on group ranked, where PTs are the strongest. It factors in PvE, yolo, WZs and all the AC specs., in which PT is doing well, but not over the top. Nerfing survivability as well is not the right path. However, our genius devs tying more damage to the strongest hitting ability for AP is a true indication of their level of intelligence.

The opportunity to change anything was with 4.0, which did not happen. Do not expect anything to change any time soon. Though nerfing carbonize would not hurt the class much. Making it break on damage can be a good improvement (with probably increased duration).

Good Point sir... I just think the class needs some serious attention before the solo ranked community gets up and running... We can't leave the Vanguards stupidly overpowered and broken

The PT tank has been an issue in yolo for a while cuz it deals too much damage. The dps specs not so much. AP is good but not the strongest in yolo. I have not tested enough to conclude, but if I theory craft, in competitive seen AP compositions with PT tank will be dominant in 4.0. Chaining carbonize has been an issue for a while, but AP burst is now even higher with the rise in critic chance.

I actually find marauders more dominating now. Maybe I just haven't ran into tons of great PTs yet. Seems like mobs of juggs and marauders are more common in the wzs.

On the other hand, operatives don't seem as common, and also don't seem to dominate.

Sins seem pretty formidable, almost forgot about them. Actually, good sins and good marauders are the dps classes I hate facing the most atm when I am on my healers.

Are PTs really dominating in your matches so much so you honestly think they need a damage nerf? Guess I been pretty lucky, none have really made an impact on me yet.

AP is indeed the #1 group ranked spec now. It has no weakness. It cannot be interrupted (save mortar volley), it can't be LOSed, it can't be kited, it can't be stunned and globalled, and it can't be AOEd down. AP really at least needs to lose the damage reduction from AOE and when stunned. Even without that extremely strong defensive passive, its sustained and burst damage are massive, plus having carbonize as a super strong CC. And on top of it all, it's dead easy to play. There is truly no reason to play any other dps spec in group ranked now.
