I am really enjoying the expansion, and love that I have Theron on my team now!

I'm only a tad selfish...I'll be honest, I just want the ability to take his shirt off after a hard day's work...

To not be able to do this with the new companions, they will never feel like they are a part of my crew and more like a guest appearance who will just disappear after I finish a quest.

We want to get attached to our new members, like the other old companions are to us. Will make the story that much more engaging if we had a major decision in the story in the future if we have to decide which member lives or dies. Guess who I'll choose? The ones I'm attached too. Not the guest appearance members.

Plain stupid move. I seriously can't believe how you think this is a good idea. You would make way more money allowing them to be customised to how we want them.

This is a major step backwards. Customisation is so important to me in this game, that if this isn't changed in a month, I'll think I'll cancel the game and never return. My other friends who I have been playing the game with for 2 years, feel the exact same way.

Please fix this.
I am actually considering saying screw it to the story on all the rest of my characters, and leveling up to 65 on the old planets, just to keep my companions as they are, and not get stuck with companions that I can't customize.

I feel your pain man. I have put alot of effort into dialing in the look of my crew, and I had plans for the newcomers. I don't want to run around with the EXACT SAME COMPANIONS as everyone else. And that is what this boils down to. Every single player in the game having cookie cutter clone companions. Looking around in social areas to see 19 identical Lana Benikos, 12 identical Koths and at least 75 identical HKs.

And sure, we can go recruit back companions and recruit ones from other classes. But still, these KOTFE additions will stick out like a sore thumb in Strongholds and irk me to no particular end anytime I have no choice but to use them.

So it would seem the only real choice is to NOT play the Fallen Empire content.
Look, we got four or five of the main characters on this ship. I think we're gonna be okay.

I've run one character through the first 9 chapters and have no plans to take anyone else though at this time for the exact reasons you mentioned. I always felt (in spite of the fact that I know everyone's story is the same) that I was playing my own story. I didn't have to look like every other Barsnenthor, Great Hunt Champion, etc. My Kira didn't look like 1000 others. Now it feels like it's no longer my story... it's ea/biowares.

But, hey, it's Star Warsy and Iconic.
Here we may reign secure, and in my choyce

I actually find myself thankful at this point that they retooled the old content to allow you to gain Level 60+ rewards in old content via Level Sync.

I am also thankful that my free Level 60 was the one I took in, so /shrug about the new companions. My old characters, the ones I really care about, will never see this content unless Bioware changes this.

Something tells me they won't.

It's a little off topic but I can understand the developers stripping us of our classic companions for the sake of the story and whatnot, but it seems like it wouldn't have gotten in the way of their plans to let us have our classic companions back after the story ends in chapter nine and we get our ship back.

The reason i bring this up is because I can understand having some characters not having customization options with regards to outfits, but if this is going to be the content strategy, then giving us our old companions back in addition to the new ones lets us still make use of the new companion system where gear has no statistical value and only serves a decorative purpose.

I suppose there may be plans to bring back classic companions in future stories, and this may be limited by design or even by financial and or contractual constraints. But even within these constraints, bringing them back as simply combat tools without any new dialogue would have been nice. It wouldn't have changed anything as far as story goes.

We were supposed to get the classic companions back after chapter 9. There is a terminal at -485,89 west of the War Room on Odessen for exactly this purpose. They borked it. http://www.swtor.com/community/showt...65#edit8536765

Would love a response from bioware is this another bug, or is this really what they intended after all the conversations they had about we can outfit our companions they way we want

It's not a bug and it likely will not be changed because all the new companions do not share the same low texture character model that the player and old companions do they used special High texture character models for all the new companions so you won't be able to put the special outfits you want on them but only the preset ones BW will release.

An official answer to "what's going on with companions?" is warranted at this point. We can't get old companions that we want back after finishing the story? My knight has two T7s in his crew skill list with different influence levels? The new companions aren't customizable at all or at any time?
