Ye and farming same raid for 30min a week for months is TOTALLY worth it. Thats why all those million+ stayed subscribes at launch. ooops....no

Nothing but a ripoff of WoW's current garrison/follower system. Not an exact copy but pretty close.

All flashpoints having a solo mode/tactical mode:
Yet another push for players to never properly learn their class and role for real group content.
Story: I prefer it that way. I play for content, not for mindlessly killing endless waves of meaningless mooks. Content is not an extra hundred mobs to be killed, standing around in nice groups of 3 or 4. Takes a lot of effort to add story, cutscenes, voices, conversation options. Story is content. Combat is not.

Build your Alliance: Don't play WoW, won't ever play WoW, point is not applicable (to me)

FPs: I prefer this, too. I play for the story, not for the combat. I fall asleep during combat and wake up for cut scenes. I have no desire to need to 'learn' how to play in order to see the next piece of story. Don't hold that story hostage behind a difficulty gate of combat. If I wanted a mental challenge against an AI, I'd play computer chess with the difficulty turned up to ten. I just want to experience a cool story where my character gets to choose his or her actions.

I don't play MMOs for "real group content". I have neither the time nor desire for that kind of scheduling/logistical coordination. I play MMOs to -be- in a virtual world with other people. Not -group- with them.

Yet, people who have been here since launch are now saying that they cancelled subs, and putting your foot down because they are not getting his or her way.

I call BS. If you put up with this sorry excuse of a game for this long. You can and will adjust to the changes that streamline things. If you hate games that streamline, than you need to adjust to the times.
Why some people struggle to see point of complaints. Not many people complain about the fact that game is **** because their focus now is story, people complain about that its sorry exuse for xpac and amount of time to complete what it seemed like a long 9 chapters is in fact a joke. I my self was fine with their focus on story when i heard number 16 chapter i though to myself well that should be fun. And point is evening worth of cut scenes and 20 min of steaming through mobs doesnt make up for the absence of content that didnt get released because of this "huge " story.

I quit right after 3.0 because I hated how they dumbed the game down. Between the new expansion and the new movie, I got the Star Wars itch, and resubbed about a month and a half ago. It's not an accident they waited until the last minute to tell us about all these changes. If I had known before resubbing, I don't think I would have. Heavily leaning towards cancelling when my sub runs out in two weeks.

Pros:
I liked allowing companions to do all 3 roles. No more being stuck with tank companions I hate.
I liked not having to gear companions any more. Let them get their own gear lol.
I liked condensing the number of crafting materials. There was really no reason to have 5 or 6 different materials for each tier in some specialties.

That is about the extent of the changes to elder game I liked for 4.0

Cons:
I wasn't thrilled with level synch, but apparently you can still faceroll stuff, it's just more tedious.
I really hated the rest of the crafting changes, especially losing a bunch of purple RE'd recipes. Yes, I know I can still make the archived stuff, but I'm talking about recipes I lost because that crafter can no longer make that item.

I think the thing that seals it for me are the unannounced changes....specifically, removing all the sub 65 equipment vendors. Even the guy next to the crafting merchant that had crafting recipes is gone. I have a bunch of toons near max comms with literally nothing to spend them on. I can't even buy my 65 gear and bank it for later. I ran a brand new toon through Tython to check out the changes, and left with 71 comms. I already have CM Moddable armor for most slots, and after I buy the moddable shield and headgear, I'll have nothing to spend comms on until level 65 since mod merchants now only sell **** greens, and will be well over the cap long before 65. Oh wait...there's no shield for Shadow tanks, only a focus for Sages/Sorcerors. Why is that gear still class locked??? If BioWare thinks I'm going to buy Cartel Packs to have a shot at getting some of the gear the comm vendors used to sell, they're in for a mother ******* surprise. I thought I read they were removing the cap, anyway...

That kind of defeats the point, though, no? Why play mmos, then? Do you like watching other people? Knowing you're not alone? Chatting with them? Selling stuff to them? Because otherwise it makes very little sense. You could just as well play any single player game if there is no interaction with other players. Like playing Skyrim and knowing other people are playing it at the same time as you. I hope you see what I'm trying to say.

The change in the way the game feels was nice. It feels very KOTORish, but somehow with even less gameplay and it's even more linear. One of the nice things with KOTOR was that you could deviate from the main storyline to do side quests, explore, or play minigames, but this is basically just a series of cutscenes and a straight path to the next video littered with mobs to AoE down in 2 seconds.

Admittedly, I had limited time last night, but up to chapter VI so far, the "choices" have been more about doing one extra step rather than a whole separate path. Some of the choices don't change anything at all. Not to mention I hit 65 already, so any bonus quests that come up are irrelevant.

I will also note that, as expected, playing through the expansion as a Smuggler feels ridiculous. None of it makes any sense in relation to the character. I can't see it feeling applicable to any non-force user.
I have opinions and stuff

The time it spent? They can do alliance system, they can do other grindy things or the same as before. Grind out money. You got things to do, while waiting for the so called "Faster" updates that is coming. So while it might not be as long as some likes. You should not be waiting 1.5 years for a small update. It should be coming at a decent pace.

So yes, it is fine the game is lacking in content. You still got things to do in the game, and alliance stuff to grind while waiting for the next story to come. If that is not fun for you. The new SWTOR might not be for you.

I just don't see that people put up with such a bad game for so long, and now when they change the focus and streamline things. It is "Not enough."

Why? Because immersion for one. Other people are like NPCS that make the world feel more alive.
Also I can use other people to gain money off of.
and last but not least. It is nice to read chat, and comment when I want to do it.

It makes lots of sense. It makes no sense that MMORPG is about grouping. That is not the meaning of it at all.
