WOW never made changes that turned the game into a solo rpg. That is what BW is doing. There is no problem with that, however, but they have the wrong business model. I am not going to subscribe monthly for a 30 minute story every 30 days, when the MMO part of this game is slowly crumpling away. This game as an MMO is in the last phase of its life.

Why do we have to be so aggressive and hostile to anything that slightly deviate from our preferred style of play?

OP said what he liked about the game, what he didn't like, and what he would like to see more of. What was the point of this hostility?

That poster has been faboying a lot lately.

If one ever says anything that can be hinted as negative, expect a ****-storm from these kind of people,

Some people feel threatened by negative comments about games they play. They lash out because they don't want something that they enjoy and invested time in possibly fail. I would much rather see them provide a constructive counter to the OP showing that his experience and observations were wrong. By attacking the players instead of defending the game, they actually do their cause more harm than good.

You know, this is a good question, and I'm not being the least bit sarcastic there, it's a legitimately good question. On that note, let's look at the first page of this thread again. Lots of people trashing BW for the direction, because they didn't get what they wanted, and if you disagree, you're a white knight, or a paid or a fanboi. So maybe it's a reflex action? I know I'm going to be called all of this for simply disagreeing with the OP, so why even try to remain the least bit civil?

Case in point: We've known for months that there wouldn't be any new raids, why are people surprised or offended about something that was made public months before release? Why, knowing full well that the game isn't going in a direction they want to go in, are they still here, starting a new thread every three hours about how unhappy they are? Is it because they don't think anyone understands that they're unhappy? Then why the "white knight" crap to someone that is? Do they believe that posts counter to what they believe will keep the game going in the current direction? Contrary to what they seem to believe, they have a far more reliable metric: How much that content is really played, and by whom.

Deciding to not release mandatory group content in an MMO is a bold move. It is, after all, an MMO. However, they have these metrics from the game about who's playing what. It's not tied to who posts about how important their subset of players is, it's tied to "How much is this content actually run, and by whom". Their metrics don't support the hyperbole on the forums that "PvP is the most important" or that "Progression raiding is the most important". So, they played both to their strength and their audience. Based on the sheer number of "I didn't read the provided information, but feel like I should get Early Access anyway" threads, a lot of people are sad that they didn't do what was required, for whatever reason. Whether it was "I'm not supporting them" or "I'm going to try to game the system" or whatever, they didn't meet the terms and conditions, and are now out in full force, armed with their rebuttals of "white knight" to any that dare to oppose their sense of entitlement.

So yeah, as I said, it's a very good question: Why do people feel the need to denigrate those that don't agree with them?

Story:
The story itself was somewhat decent. I didn't time it precisely, but around half of the so called 9 hours of playtime (easily doable in less time) was watching the cut scenes. Combat zones are too small and too easy.

Build your Alliance:
Nothing but a ripoff of WoW's current garrison/follower system. Not an exact copy but pretty close.

All flashpoints having a solo mode/tactical mode:
Yet another push for players to never properly learn their class and role for real group content.

People don't have to learn or care to learn. Some games you don't need to be an expert out to get enjoyment and some thing out of. That is not a bad thing.
