The story and the "bonuses" themselves were not worth subscribing for. In fact I would higlhy recommend that if you are here for the story that you unsubscribe and enjoy the story as a F2P. Frankly what has been released (including the lack of group content) is no where's near enough to justify a subscription anymore.

The story telling has improved, and the cutscene's look much better and flow alot better as well I will applaud Bioware on that at least.

I don't know if I will subscribe again, I really don't. The announcement of KOTFE releasing without new raid content to challenge caused several of my closest friends and my guilds GM to quit and leave for another game thus effectively killing my guild. Sigh what else...oh, the lack of actual changes in the galaxy or new zones post-SoR or KOTFE is laughable. Sure you hear bits about it in the story, but you never see changes to any of the core worlds. Also the companions being taken away and scattered throughout the galaxy to re-obtain is straight up ********. After experiencing it firsthand I can firmly state that it is one of the WORST decisions Bioware has ever made.

One final note, as fun as the story was...it feels so far detached from the Star Wars mythos that it might as well be its own random space opera fantasy MMO at this point. Sure they are wielding lightsabers and crap, but the factions are so flat out bizarre its bad. Knights that use the Force as a tool for justice, random seers that use the force to forsee the destiny...bleh. Just feels wrong.

Oh well, I've wasted enough time on this post. Plus there are at least 20 or so other posts on why this expac is bad so w/e.

Bye Bioware. Maybe someone will think of setting up a private server for Vanilla SWTOR, cause the new expac feels nothing like the MMO I originally signed up for.
all good points, i feel the exact same way

Nothing really exciting about it as my once maxed level affection companions are now 10K out of 250K. Bw said they were not taking away anything but if my max affection toon is now 1/10 as effective because they created this new grind to get back what I had, then they have taken something away. They didn't take away the points but took away effectiveness. Made what I had a drop in a very large grindy bucket.

the rest of end game is that grind and do nothing but repeat content thats been in game for 1 to 4 years with only one new FP area. Disappointment is not a strong enough word for this "expansion" once story is done and what BW changed, adjusted or just simply took out.

An expansion based on creating a new grind to companions you already had. A new grinding influence system was created because the first time you grinded them to max influence/affection apparently wasn't costly enough and after all that, I didn't even have to bring up the bugs.
Yeah well as far as "not taking away anything" goes they did take plenty away imo. Thrash and the lower moves that were replaced is taking away something. i know many replaced it with voltaic but for me it was a change in animation more than a vital move and kind of broke my will as well. I don't feel like runing around spamming voltaic all day, just seems to dull.

Not to mention they took all the planet comm vendors off the fleet and that stuff you can no longer get.

Then there is the old pvp gear and stuff I read about as well so that statement is so far from true lol. I too quit and am very disappointed because it feels like loads more has been taken away than added not to mention the pathetic sales tactic which was too obvious and disappointing. Oh well, it is what it is, I'll mess with it a bit as ftp and leave it at that if at all and move on to other places with my money.

Not all change is good btw, certainly not for everyone. So no matter how much you dislike a certain change, you just have to stick it out and all will be well in time?

And what I expressed was, in my mind at least, a perfectly civil opinion. I find it interesting how those who support the current changes most of the time do so without any argument at all, it's just "love the story", "love the changes". Why? Can you support it with more than just "ty Bioware, I love you 4ever". In a lot of cases benevolent criticism leads to improvement. But sure, tell me to go play WoW (which I have never played nor do I intend to).

to be fair people like and dislike different things.
you're entitled to dislike it based on little reasoning, the same way they are allowed to like it.

They might not want to get used to it. WOW being dumed down didn't make it a better game. At the moment I have zero interest in gathering more Companions who are exactly like the ones I already have. Wasn't it companions that cost WOW a few million players?

Companions are great but they don't replace the desire to play with other players. Was there anything in this expansion to enhance playing with other players? Was there anything that made Companions more interesting? No. It's still a case of picking the one you like best, now based on appearances instead of the merit of the character and off you go. I find it massively disappointing. I don't know why I'm even posting as I've already canceled my subs. I guess I just wanted to say that duming down the experience doesn't seem like an improvement. Removing the huge effort I and others put into gearing up our companions to help those who didn't doesn't sound like an improvement or a good business decision. How many hours did they delete and how many hours of content did they remove?

Honestly I simply feel like I'm no longer the target audience for Bioware in this MMO. I feel like I've been left out in the cold, and the fact that my guild pretty much died off for me when my GM quit killed almost any motivation for me to continue playing.

I find it interesting that people feel the story was still non star warsy. I felt that it was finally very much star warsy. I'm not going to try to make you like the expac OP. I just don't particularly agree with these oh the expac is awful. I greatly enjoy the changes. I do wish you could enjoy things that we've been provided, but if you can't you can't. Just the way it goes. Hopefully you find your place in gaming, or maybe you move on to other life endeavors.
