I am guessing those are somewhat accurate even in SWTOR.
It might be the group of people you play with as the group I play with is more interested in story. I know one that does pvp and one or two that do operations and flashpoints so it would seem to be the group you play with.

Though honesty the game needs variety since all people do not like the same thing.

If it doesnt get bare minimum usage, they wont produce it any more. FPs are safe, you will definitely see more FPs, but OPs are quite shaky. They just dont have spare money like Blizzard to produce them over other content.
You keep saying the same things over and over, without having any basis or facts on what changes are occurring or why they are.

Below is an example of what is FACT.

We know that many players love our Operations and look forward to the introduction of new challenges, however with Knights of the Fallen Empire there will not be any new Operations. We felt it was important to first address some of the issues with our Elder Game before moving on to new content. These changes will allow us to be more flexible with how we release new content, as the content no longer needs to be tied to a new gear tier or level cap increase.

Anything else you wish to add is pure and utter speculation, so try to back up your statements with FACTS.

What isn't FACT.

- That BioWare have decided to stop producing content in terms of Operations moving forward.

What isn't FACT.

- That BioWare have looked at the numbers of players who play Operations, and have decided to stop producing content moving forward.

What IS FACT.

Operations
Operations are a larger change, in that every single Operation in SWTOR will be raised to level 65! Every Operation will drop a new tier of Elder Game gear, as well as new vanity rewards such as Mounts, Vehicles, and Decorations for your Stronghold. Story Mode Operations will be playable from Level 50 to Level 65, and will grant a Bolster to ensure everyone in your group is prepared! Soa will once again be the ancient Rakatan Warlord who threatens to take over the Galaxy, with the challenge to match!

We are also making several Quality of Life improvements to Operations in the Group Finder to make a better, more engaging experience. Each day, a new Story Mode Operation will be available in Group Finder, and will all drop relevant gear for your character.

Nightmare Mode will also be available for all the Operations that had it previously, and will reward the same as the highlighted Hard Mode, as all the unique mounts and titles available currently.

For Hard Mode Operations, one Operation per week will be highlighted to give even greater rewards! Ultimately, the goal is that you will have a reason to visit all of our Operations and will feel rewarded for doing so.

What is FACT.

- BioWare has taken time to alter the older endgame content for operations, to be more inclusive once you've hit level 50.

Speculating is all fine and well, but at least try to back up your assertions with FACTS.

It's just the people you game with. My gaming group have been playing this for nearly 4 years now ( with a small break when we went back to LOTRO for 9 months ) and we have never done an Operation, and really have no interest in them. We occasionally run a Flashpoint or two but not very often. Most of us just enjoy the story and leveling up alts and doing *all* of the content (planetary quests) as we do. A few of us do pvp and none of us have liked GSF enough to give it a second chance.

Why are the metrics flawed? Well, their decision to bring us Fallen Empire is based on 'player feedback' that they want MORE story. Yes - CLASS story. Then, they state that all the players love the story and its the most popular activity in this game - all driven by their 'metrics'.

NO WAY!?!!! When its the only real form of levelling a character, no wonder its so 'popular' Its like saying that if you only have road A to work, you must take road A then the highway agency claiming that road A is the most popular route to work.

Story didn't sell the game, or keep it afloat just after launch and within 3 months, the game was all but dead. Sure there will be a small minority would will embrace story but its SMALL. The lack of new end game content is disgusting, when you consider that the game has gone through its longest content drought of all time and that these small episodes of content (like Netflix for games as Bioware put it) is enough to demand a subscription AND lock ancient content such as Warzones, Flashpoints and Operations behind pay walls.

The latter MUST change. SWTOR is the only MMO now that asks for a sub AND locks content behind pay walls. Then, maybe yes they can get away with the lack of new endgame and just churn out story. At least then, the group finders will be busy again.
I love having you back!

Wait, someone in this thread said Bioware/s metrics are wrong and then used the forums as a source to show that most players like OPS/Flashpoints and Raids more. A area where people argue and share information is not a list of in game player activity.

I see this in other games as well, most people do no play raids and some people do not get it. I personally used to test this by simply logging in and seeing how many active players were in a raid, flashpoint, pvp and world planets. PVP especially, because I used to get butthurt if I could not get into a match. Using the forums is a terrible way to test this as a lot of it is tips and tricks, people complaining about overpowered characters and what they wish would happen.

Many people who have quit probably have taken the survey and said what they really wanted in the game anyway and that survey is a much better sample size than the forums.

The question is are subs going to stick around for the story post 4.0 because raiders will be back for the next raid anyway so theat is not much of a problem. PVPers will return for the next pvp expansion. The goal of 4.0 is try to keep story players for much longer than normal.

The game did not bleed subs just because of story, who made up this revisionist history. A lot of people left when they got nothing to do but ops and flashpoints that did not give good gear at the time. The drop system was crappy with the small number of things to do. The game offered no replay factor telling players to restart at level one instead of having a new game plus or something of that nature. There were a lot of other factors too.
and the Force beat generic Swords and Magic any day. 8/26/14 That was my old signature but after RotHC, I went back to superheroes and swords and magic. Now waiting on Dragon Age and a SWTOR story expac for my Bioware fix 7/30/15 Returned for KotFE. Finally, a story expac.

Longer than normal? Dude...are you new here? What expansion in the past didn't revolve entirely around story?

ROTHC was ALL story driven
Oricon was entirely story driven
Foraged Alliances was all story driven
Ziost was all about that story too
SoR was 100% story driven

The only difference with 4.0 is, there's nothing BESIDES story...we've ALWAYS had story...but we've always had other stuff too...this is the first expansion without anything else.

^^This the raiders and pvp may through bigger tantrums but in fact they are the minor as the above person said it there are metric to say that it hovers around 5-10% of the actual player base.

For ages they have put in forced grouping in Fp and ops ... hopefully now they have Truly seen the light so to speak there drive to make everything soloable and concentrate on story is a very positive move IMO

Op-- ther are some that don't need to be "bribed" to sub and do so simply becase they enjoy the game and want to support it.

You could always look at as the expansion isn't hitting till June next year. That when the new OP will come out.
