However, it being optional is better for the game. Allowing players to play the game as they have been and have a new way to play it should they be interested as well.

Forced down scaling because I went to a starter world. Not all that fun and entertaining as a constant feature.
The players will still be able to play the game as they want to. Nothing of that is changing whatsoever. So instead of facerolling the enemies on a starter planet in half a second, it will take 2 or 3 seconds. It's not going to be a thing where you are suddenly level 10 on Tython again, have your gray gear and it will take a minute or two to kill mobs. You can't make a system like this optional for some players, and then not make it optional for others.

The whole reason they have made this system is because the older planets are getting missions and you get to do the heroics again. So let me ask you this then. Say they make it optional and then the new missions on the planets as they scale are there, the scaling person does it and gets the rewards. Now the non scaling person wants to do it. But wait...why would you even pick the scaling option if you can just faceroll and roflstomp the heroics as a level 65 NOT scaled? Why would anybody choose the scaling option?

The other question remains where "if the level 65 does the content so easily, do we even let them have the new missions on the older planets? or will those just be for the scaling people" Because that would be totally NOT fair if the same content was different for a scaled or unscaled player. What would be the point of making a scaling system so you have more stuff do and it's more relevant, if you can just roflstomp or facesmash the new missions on the older planets?

It's not optional, it's not going to be optional and you can either adapt to it, or vote with your wallet. It's NOT as bad of a system as you are thinking it is at all! It will do NOTHING to the game to hinder your performance whatsoever. I also think some are against it because they want to faceroll stuff and now they can't. So what's the point of even putting content in the game if you just want to faceroll and roflstomp it? There wouldn't even be any of these new missions if that were the case.

If you don't want to have level scaling be on you, then don't go do the new missions on the other planets so therefore you will not get scaled! There, problem solved. And no, don't try to use the excuse "But I rp!! I don't want to be attacked by mobs when I rp" that's just absurd. You will still be able to do everything you did before! nothing is changing! Why can't you guys just see that?

So you haven't read the threads on this and seen the lists of actual concerns?

Or you think all those posters are lying?

Or maybe you don't care if they're lying, it's more fun to lob insults?

Correction, focus is new players/subs.

With all these changes it is going to be a vastly better MMO. For a new player.

I don't think there's ever been an MMO expansion more geared to new players than this one. You just look at marketing. Info on alliances, arguably the only major adition to existing systems... the day of early access. BW recognises the main fact about us (still) here. We're not exactly demanding customers heh.

They are not actual concerns. They are not lying, they just can't tell actual and false concern apart.

No, he's right. That's a main thing here. The only thing it removes is the ability to roflstomp enemies.

And planetary mobility... though, I have an open thread questioning how aggro radius is determined in the level-sync system.

First, which is it? Sometimes it's "the only thing you'll lose is roflstomp" and other times it's "downscaled characters will still roflstomp with ease". I'm beginning to suspect that which claim is made depends on what's convenient to the person making it, and not based on the objective facts.

Second, that some of you keep saying "You're just pissed about losing roflstomp" just demonstrates that you have not, in fact, actually bothered to take a moment and understand the statements of those who are opposed to this. Look more carefully -- note how many of the concerns are based not on "I won't be able to roflstomp", but rather on "now I'll have to take the time to roflstomp, because the mobs in those areas will actually agro now".

Somehow, people who are really really in favor of this, or just looking for the latest excuse to insult and belittle their fellow players, seem to keep mistaking "I'd prefer to not have to slog" for "I hate any form of challenge".
