When I said it, I only meant in the first chapter when saving the Jedi Masters. Going DS on those choices just contradicted the whole point of Coruscant and the rest of chapter one, imo. Though, everyone is free to do as they wish of course

Chapter 2 and on though, the choices become better.
"It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more...than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well, so *********** what." - Stephen Fry

I liked the beginning but not really the last bit. I never felt my sage was on the path of being a great leader or mover n' shaker and more communal to oneself off to find that unknown sithy entity in some abandoned ruins on some obscure planet. Basically a story line that was more mystery and discovery with the force than what was offered.

But what can you do.

Seriously people use spoiler tags, it may not be big spoilers, but 3 posts can already give a hint to the OP about what's what

Some complaints are about playing dark side, I don't really think when people first started playing went Jedi for the darkside, and if you REALLY examine the stories then some Light empire choices makes as much sense as dark consular "Hey i'm sparing this guys life, so he can be ENDLESSLY TORTURED" +100 LS and I can think of more especially on the Sith classes.

A DS consular can be played in chap. 1, you have to headcannon a little (maybe) here's how, but this is..

MAJOR SPOILERS
Spoiler

I'll admit the story is meant to be light, you're a paragon of the order, you're Space monk, or Space Jesus (in contrast to SI Space Legion) but to me and a apparently a few others? we like that, so yes I don't really know what people expect when they picked a JC, there's a reason Obi-wan was called the "negotiator" and not "action hero out to save the world #11" and it wasn't because he could whack people with a lightsaber.

Both knight and consulare have worst stories in tha game. I was surprised that even trooper story turned out to be lot better. After walking through warrior and inquisitor stories, jedi was so mach boring to play >.<
And inquisitor fem voice acting is da best ever.

Consular's one of my favorite stories, personally. The Jedi Knight story feels like something out of an Extended Universe comic book; the Consular feels like a Jedi Master out of the movies.

As usual another post about the better/worse story lines brings out about a hundred different opinions.

personally I enjoyed it a lot more then knight. both, by the virtue of being jedi were tending a little too close to emotionless almost robotic expression. I mean... they had such fantastic actors voice them and they manage to get those actors sound like paint drying. taking the same actor who voices Richthofen, Nathan Drake, Penguin in batman cartoons and games, David from the Last of us, just to name a few and making him sound blander then cardboard like 80% of the time? THAT takes special kind of voice directing skill >_> but the whole "there's no emotion only peace thing kept getting in a way (that said, there ARE some amusing conversation option here and there and if you try to play them a little less "perfect jedi" they are a lot more pleasant)

its a little contradictory if you don't play it full light side, but at least a bit more fun with some emotional delivery actualy showing up.

but back to the story. consular is very much building alliances, working as a diplomat sort of story. the mystery in the beginning i figured out relatively quickly, but I still enjoyed it. and Tharan is the only companion that I didn't much like

and to illustrate "to each their own" Irreso is one of my fave romances and companions in the game. I found him to be interesting in a quiet "he's a rock" sort of way. I like that he was understanding when my jedi told him they couldn't get married because jedi order. I liked how he deals with his backstory, and I actualy use his default appearance, because I think he looks fine as is.

but generally its slower and more cerebral. its certainly a nice change from many of the more action oriented stories.

I like that the Consular seems rather less green than the Knight, for example. It's quite easy to play a Consular as a genius, a scholar, a Jedi who is good at it, a chess master rather than a pawn. While dark dark McDark from the get-go May not come off that coherent, both "taking time to learn the right path" OR "being a paragon slowly corrupted by power" can work. The Consular, female at least, can be quite witheringly patronising, and do an excellent line in "I will do what is best for you, and you will do as you are told".

I also like the dynamic that

I've played through the consular story line many times. In my opinion, the story really is horrible, and the only worse storyline is that of the troopers.

Flying across the galaxy with a bunch of space hobos camped out on my ugly ship really didn't excite me.

Consular story is very good (i personally rank it as second best).

It gets flak because it is more about the aspect of Jedi represented by Yoda and Obi-Wan (meaning diplomacy, etc) instead of smashing things. It is also a good deal of "behind the scenes", meaning your actions do not have great visible effects, but without them, the Republic would lose the war.

And as some others have said, it makes sense only when going LS, DS doesn't really work well with that class (and VA on those choices is very weird, unlike on LS and Neutral, where Nolan North is awesome)
