Except for the fact that BW also decided to throw out even more mobility, or gap closers, to the classes that mercs/mandos are trying to get away from.

But I guess they didn't think of any thing as silly as giving sorcs/sages the ability to bubble on the move and a teleport. Oh, wait, they did.

While I agree they do need some tweaks to survivability and self heals... They need to offset this based on the high DPS burst they can do... I'm certainly not advocating self heals as strong as Sorcs because they put out much less dps, so in my mind Sorcs deserve better self heals... But they definitely need something better than they have now...
After coming back to my merc after not playing her for 5 months, it was a real shock at how easily I die compared to all the other classes (I play all)... Now I know I need to get some more practice and brush off the rust... I've already noticed a 50% improvement after about 10 games... But still, the ease of which melee classes can global me is astonishing... Ranged I have zero issues with...
Those silly little heals Mercs have are so pointless to mitigate damage that you may as well not use them... My health packs heal me better... I can get higher heals on my other DPS classes than on Mercs... And most don't even have self heals... I always look at my heal stats to see... With the amount of time I've spent in some matches just trying to stay alive on my Merc, I expected to have pretty good healing stats... When I see I have less healing stats than Juggs (who have used health packs) I have to laugh...
I am going to persevere and see if I can fix my obvious L2P issues I've picked up on this class (shame as I used to be good)... I really like the class and I just hope it's more me than it being as bad as people are saying

Maybe another 25-35%, especially on our instant heals... Ticking heals are so pointless in pvp for a DPS class... I can see their value for healers pumping them out... But DPS need instant heals and not ticks that trickle near pointless amount of health

Yes to all... I would gladly give up being able to drop stealth detect anywhere for it to be centred on the Merc and also moved with the Merc...

Mercs are only beating snipers due to the amount of them healing... No one I their right mind would try DPS Mercs in ranked

There is one thing about Entrench/Hunker Down that some snipers/slingers arent aware of (and i think its one of the stupidest things in game): your immunity to everything starts when the animation (the extra cover lowering) finishes, not when you press the button. The buff icon appears immediately, but the immunity only starts when the animation finishes. So if a jugg for example sees extra cover flying down from the air, he knows he must push you now, because you'll be immune in a seconds. I guess that PT saw it on you as well and reacted fast enough.

For all the problems with the merc/mando class, I still love playing it. It is very dependent on group support, but the burst it can pour out from range is pretty sweet. Stealth scan works for covering VS doors and nodes without standing right on top of them although you still don't want to defend alone. I use Jet Boost/Concussion Charge quite often to knock people away from those, too. Having a good healer with you makes a lot of difference, but winning those 1v1 match ups against classes that should defeat you is pretty satisfying.

Personally, as someone who plays both Merc and Marauder regularly, i find Marauders are in worse shape than Mercs, because, melee. That being said, they both need help. Mara's need some CC immunity and Mercs need a disengage or some way to remove focus. But at least Mercs have the luxury of range.
