Please help mercs

Mercs are getting a saving grace in 4.0 but our new utility additions are kinda meh except for the new Heroic utility that we get. The new ability however... It's a godsend. (It's what the Sniper roll should have been.)

Stealth scan simply needs more added to it other than showing stealth targets Vanguards can spec for their stealth scan and grapple to root. while ours just has a reduced cd and some melee and ranged def........ While I wouldn't want any upgrades to stealth scan to be utility based it could use some loving.

It's also pretty fun to use in SnV!

Thanks everyone for the excellent replies. There is some really great feedback in here. I only hope the dev's are listening. The only reason I am still joining wz's with my merc is because I am at 59 valor, and once I hit 60 I can finally wear my battlemaster helmet. I really love the class, dual wielding pistols is really fun. It's just kind of sad when a cloth wearing sage/sorc can survive way more damage than someone wearing heavy armor. I wouldn't mind if our damage made up for it, but it just doesn't. Traditionally the most squishy classes made up for it in firepower.

Merc healer works fine for me. A channel/splash heal, 2-3 uninterruptible big heals, an energy recharge that grants alacrity, a forcefield (that can protect against the simple interrupt) and hydraulic overrides? I'll take that every day of the week.

Why all the stealth scan hate? Seriously it's damn useful, especially for dealing with combat stealth. I legitimately miss having the ability when I'm on another class.

I've had games where I've been repeatedly been knocked out of in-cover-hunker by the same PT. No lag on my end. Seconds after I was crouched and hunkered. I also suspect some players have found a way to mess with the timestamps on their attacks though. I've had far too many games where everything's fine until I engage a specific player or 4-man team in a WZ and without fail my shots will get delayed until they've made some attack on me that doesn't stun me or knock me out of LOS and then I'll see the projectiles fly out (although channeled attacks seem to get cut short). I've noticed using AOE against people where this condition seems to assert itself is both much more effective and really seems to piss them off.

it's very rng dependent. 3k-9k is a pretty ridiculous spread. basically, you catch a relic proc or it's like 2 of the old medshots (pre 3.3).

edit: sry. was talking about the off heal adjustment in 3.3.

it almost sounds like pushback before you went into entrench, but even if you're in cover, I don't think there's anything that could be interrupted.

The datamined stuff isnt 100 percent for certain, so the utilities could be a little different / moved around. We can only hope.
