I also have horrible fps 20-30 with huge spikes in Quest-Zones usually dropping to 5-10 on fleet or BG.

If Bioware monitors this problem then may as ask. Why was added more fog with yesterday patch?
Before patch game was playable with my old laptop, had constant 20-25 FPS, bit jumpy but playable.
Now after patch I never get over 10FPS. Did some questing on Corusant yesterday after patch, game simply lags.
How game breaking is adding a button "Disable fog", it is nice see realistic environment but I'm guessing low specks computers owners don't care about "nice picture".
Nor me nor other low specks computer owners will not rush in to shops buy a new computer because 1 game. And buy the way WoW works perfectly with minimum settings.
My laptop is still fine for what I'm doing, I don't need modern gaming laptop or computer.
Time learn make games finally, who want "eye candy", throw everything on them but who don't, let them minimize effects as much as possible.
Good start would be allowing players select Direct X shader model (AKA DX9, DX10, DX11) and allowing disabling fog from options.

Ah this is such a sad situation that I am faced with. I know they are possibly working on whats going on - However the following problems I endure whilst playing this game, has now turned to what could of been a really fun MMO for me:

1. Severe drop of FPS in Warzones - Unplayable
2. Sith Assassin - Maul and various abilities, especially in Warzones don't connect or even activate saying 'Ability not ready' - Um yes it is - This also affects my stealth sometimes and even to the point that I spam my key to get the thing to even go off - when it does it will then take me out of stealth...

3. Huge spikes in FPS in confined places where you shouldnt see a drop - e..g SpaceShip.

4. Sharp freezes for 0.5seconds~1 - when opening Inventory / Character Sheet / Social etc.. WHY!?

5. MSI Afterburner reports 3D>2D Profile speeds - even though I have followed online advice to change and alter every possible setting to force it to stay in full 3D profile -

The card just drops to under half its speeds and spikes every time I see an FPS drop - The GPU does not even run at >40% load... really?

6. Demanding titles such as Crysis 2 DX11 Ultra texture pack, BattleField 3, Batman Arkham City, Saints Row 3, Skyrim - All on Ultra - No problem with handling huge particle, explosions, hectic battle scenes .. and what these are more capable at handling itself - And swtor struggles to cope with 16 people on my screen with cheap Huttball fire effects? COME ON! Get rrreeeeaaaallll.

SWTOR Engine sucks Period.

I unfortunately cannot wait around and waste my time with any progression - I hopefully will return to this game when they eventually sort this huge mess out - And I hope for everyone it is soon - because I dont have the patience to wait any longer. I will spend my time/money elsewhere for now.

What a shame Bioware.

The human eye cannot distinguish the difference between 30 fps and 600 fps. But the problem is, is that that the mouse/camera speed seems to be linked the the FPS. 20 FPS ingame feels completely different between 40 fps.

That's why it is a problem for me.

Im starting to think its the game engine, which is Hero Engine, either it simply cannot handle this type of game or bioware has an issue with its own optimization...

If you guys are on ATI cards, I suggest this driver. Specially if you run crossfire.
