It seems to me that they're going to focus on story more than in previous expansions, perhaps even as much as in the original game.
You're going to be so sad and disappointed I can't wait it'll be like watching sad puppy videos.

Ah, fair enough.

I'd say common sense.

They took away the ability to kill/abandon companions because there were some players who just couldn't handle making it through the game without a companion for whatever reason.

So guess are going to be, what are they going to allow you to do? My money is on them allowing you to get the band back together, while also replacing/adding others from the other classes.

My biggest question will be the ship. I hope they're coming up with new ships that can not only be decorated (like a stronghold) but the ability to change which ship you have. It'd be a great way for them to make more money off the CC as I'm sure people would love to change up their class ship for some of their characters.
"It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more...than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well, so *********** what." - Stephen Fry

So for an as yet undefined period, we will be without our ability to craft, or at least run missions etc.

Of course, they may well remove companions from crafting completely and allow us just to run 6 missions at a time some other way, but I doubt they have even thought about the implications outside of their story.

Given the story is the same no matter what class, faction etc, why bother risk them ruining your work since launch, to date, when you can just run it as a new L60, given to you free as a subscriber? Then simply level the rest of your 60s to 65 the old fashioned way.
You're freaking out over nothing. If you're here for BW's wonderful crafting system then yea, you might get set back for 40-90 min. There are actually at least a couple class quests where you also lose access to BW's wonderful crafting system (and many/most of your companions). Just breath, remember it's just a game and that while you're playing your brand new 60 you're also probably not using all of the companions you "earned" on your other characters.

My wife and I have talked about this and since it is ONE story, regardless of your original faction, and the fact there will be new content monthly, we will probably reduce how many high level toons we have. Out of my current 12, 6 are at 60... We will probably cut this in half and focus on our favorite 2-3, depending on how much time we have.

For me, my Mara, my Sorc and either my BH or Shadow.... Her and I both prefer the IMP side and we also both prefer to play female toons. However, incase gender does play into things in any way... (like you MUST be a male to marry a certain female NPC, than I may switch out my female Mara for my male Jugg....

We also get a fee 60... I may use that for a female sage, time permitting and take out the BH, because I really do not see a BH as the savior of the galaxy... That, immersion wise for me, should be a force user.

At this time, I only plan on taking my Warrior through.
I try to make alts here and there, but I just do not enjoy them as much as I enjoy my Warrior, which is strange, because I am an altoholic.
It would seem that I finally found a class/race/gender combination that I love to much to go away from, so unless something happens to make me hate the warrior, he is the one that will be my Outlander.

However, finding armor that doesn't make him look like a maniac, while also keep him looking like a Sith Lord, is a pain in the *** =P

Normally, I take my main through all content first, which is my gunslinger. This time around though, I'm not sure.

I'm actually considering using the "free 60" option to recreate my main on another server and then play HER through first, that way if I end up making any terrible decisions by mistake, I don't end up messing up my main forever. Either that, or I may take a secondary alt through in order to test the waters and see how the new companion thing is handled and scope out possible choices, etc.

Any one of these would make for an interesting Outlander in my opinion.
Cipher 9: A ghost now forced into the limelight as a savior
Barsen'thor and Darth: Both members of their respective councils and in positions of leadership of the now nearly obliterated Republic and Empire-they are forced into fighting just to survive.
My main is a Shadow, and that will be the first character I take through KOTFE. I'm really looking forward to the interaction between her and Lana Beniko, especially since she and my character didn't exactly part on a happy note, despite the romance.

Spoiler

But I will play all eight classes, regardless.

I also want to point something out regarding the bolded Darth title.

Bioware has confirmed that although the overall story is shared (much like Makeb and SOR), there will be a fair amount of class-specific content as well.

I feel like it will be at the level of Rishi, where once or twice every couple of planets something class specific pops up. I could be very wrong, though, and it may end up like the other stuff from Makeb and Yavin where it only references vague things from the class story.

I'll take my Sorc through on the Empire side and my Sent through on the Republic side.
