Any one of these would make for an interesting Outlander in my opinion.
Cipher 9: A ghost now forced into the limelight as a savior
Barsen'thor and Darth: Both members of their respective councils and in positions of leadership of the now nearly obliterated Republic and Empire-they are forced into fighting just to survive.
Time will tell, I will get back to this when I have more information.

With the information we have at the moment I say that my assassin and my shadow are the two characters on each side I will try first.

At the moment, due to not really knowing what will happen to the chars and how it all connects to the current state of the game, I plan to use my second generation smuggler, an egocentric female dark side bioch. If something happens to her, I don't mind so much. Should everything turn out fine, then my wonderful Havoc Squad leader will follow.

Yes they are removing them and making us go out and find them, from there as they wrote the story and our choices we may be able to recruit some or all of them as well as the new ones and some cross faction companions. I don't know about you but that sounds like a lot of companions, all our old ones, plus a few new ones, plus Niko, plus any cross faction companions(let's say 2) that's an easy dozen on the low side.

Nothing in any of the information released says that we can obtain all of our old companions, in fact the information out is clearly silent on that simple statement and plays up several times how it is possible our companions won't come back. Things like they have had to deal with our absence and the repercussions our choices had on their lives absent us, our choices will affect how we can interact with them past and present in the expansion, and how about the idea of if we could interact with a companion in this or that way etc. This or that way could be as an enemy, as a rival, as a boss, as a new romantic interest, as a simple quest giver, etc.

Unless I have missed something blatantly obvious or other people are reading too much into nothing, then this story is a one trick pony, irrespective of class, faction etc.

If we did have 8 separate stories like at launch, then fantastic, even I would saying well done BW, but, we do not, we have one.
Sure, but the business with the companions will be different, and also they said there would be 'class story flavour' and I want to experience that. I want to see what happens to all my various classes' companions. It's fine, I've played all of my 22 alts through Ziost...so why not continue lol.

First is going to be my Barsen'thor, aka my main, and then former Cipher 9, who is my main Imperial alt (although he technically works for SIS)
Supreme Commander of all riots yet to come

Not quite a one trick pony. From what I've read, because each class has different companions the stories will be slightly different as different companions will add different elements. In addition, it seems that decisions made even during your original class story change the narrative of the Outlander tale.

Your journey is still from point A to B, but how you get there will differ a good bit. An Altaholics paradise.

It would be awesome to see that first run through. lol. You know, whisper her before she does anything crazy. "Chillax Liatrix. You can't kill companions that are not in your story. At least not yet. Put Kaliyo down!"

I am thinking it will be a lot like SOR storywise. IE the same story but with minor changes. IF your companions come back as quest givers for an example those *MAY* lead to different side quests (OR they can lead to the same quests but a different giver).

It should still be a really cool story though, I am looking forward to it. As to who to play, that is my dilemma now. I am leaning toward one of my Imperial characters which is odd as I really do not care for the empire, but really like the stories for those characters more than the Republic characters I have for the most part. Although, I do find the Republic side of SOR a bit better to me at the beginning.

Agent probably, best story to me so far.

Yep. People who haven't read the information, act as if Bioware will reboot everything for the outlander characters. This is not true per se.

The issue is that there will be period during which your outlander will have to work to regain all past companions and stuff. However, nothing is truly lost since everything will likely be regainable. In addition, if you want to get rid of some companion, say, Quinn for SW, you will have an opportunity to do so. You can pick new companions or regain old group, whichever you like. Thats how I read the info.
