However, there is no reason that people should have to deal with those people that want to grief others when with a little simple forethought(or even afterthought since this has been an issue since the event started) and it wouldn't matter? MMO's are not just for people that want to hurt others enjoyment of the game.

The vaccines and relics are "supposed" to do that but they always had issues and still don't work as needed or are gated when opting out should be an opt out. So I don't get the added resistance to correcting the issue that is still there and shouldn't be. All as if the person being griefed is in the wrong.
wow, dude. I rest my case. Its a video game. An mmo at that, not real life. This isn't illegal anywhere that I know of. Just step away from the game if it's this serious for you.

Unless it escaped the OP, this is an MMO, NOT A SINGLE PLAYER GAME! MMOs have events, if you cant handle it, or cant be bothered tonpay 2k for a vaccine, then play a single player game...problem solved...

but that's the thing. you don't have to be a part of it! you have a choice not to be a part of it and it doesn't even have to involve vaccines, just a bit of awareness of your environment.

think of it this way. this event is a parade. streets get closed off for it, there are all these marching people and bands and floats and stuff. you know its there, you are given warning its there and you can see participants because there is a visual confirmation of them. when there was a plague event in WoW? to introduce the expansion. you literally couldn't avoid it because people could deliberately infect you by biting you. there was no vaccine. it was like having your pvp flag turned on for you and no option to turn it off. here? not only do we have a vaccine, but infection is essentially passive. they cannot infect you by attacking you, they can only infect you if you continue to stand next to them when they blow up. and it takes a while for them to blow up.

you are not being griefed if you essentially chose to ignore all the warnings and allow yourself to be infected. its like complaining that you are being hit by a float, when you deliberately ignore all the barricades and signs and security and cross the main street of the parade and walk in front of the aforementioned float. its like crossing the street on a red light and then complaining that you were hit by a car.

personal responsibility is a thing, people!

you know the irony is - the only thing that does annoy me about even and is essentially forced participation... is being attacked by infected NPC's at random intervals when landing on a planet features in outbreak. while you can completely avoid people with infection... you cannot avoid those guys. but no one is complaining about those for some reason - instead you all are complaining about ... what... not being able to afk for half an hour on fleet? ok then

Nice - griefing the griefers. I approve!

no. just griefing. those people are not trying to grief anyone, but you by deliberately KNOWINGLY wasting their time? ARE griefing.

I just love the hypocrisy here.

P.S. incidentally, personally I don't do that daily. gave up on achievement as well. why? casue I find waiting to blow up to be boring. I'd rather be out there, playing, then sitting in the same spot, occasionally hitting spacebar, so that I don't get DCed. which is literally what people who ARE doing the daily have to do. oh yes... look at those evil griefers just... sitting there, doing nothing at all, at several designated spots.... how terrible they are >_> /eyeroll

The only place they got "pissed off" was in your mind. You really think anyone pays attention to who gets infected and who doesn't? All they care about is "Did I get my 3?" But it seems to make you feel better about things to think you're really sticking it to them.

As it stands, the event is like "Until July 7th, we're allowing open world TvP on all servers, and it's going to be concentrated on what's otherwise the safest public area in the game."

The event does have one benefit -- there are always a few more people you find out can be put on forum ignore because they're trolls, people who think it's funny to make others miserable, or who think that it's the responsibility of people who don't want to take part to go out of their way to avoid the event.
2,000 credits. That's all it takes. And you are safe for 6 hours. Available at every med droid in game. Unless you are on Tatooine itself or the Fleet, the event is almost non existant. It really isn't "going out of one's way" to not get the plague. Is it annoying? Yes. Is it funny at times? Yes. Does it cause a lot of fleet lag? Yes. But is it easily avoidable with a 2,000 credit vaccine? Yes. So unless you frequently die on fleet... you're pretty much safe if you have the vaccine.

Am I the only that is bothered by the glaring typo of Rakghoul in the title? (not to mention the griefer typo, perhaps someone has been on the reefer a bit too much).

Not bothered because it doesn't matter. We all know what the OP means.

Yes, your post is full of hypocrisy.

For the record, I had a grand ole time in the original Rak event, suiciding from the top level of fleet. I just don't have the time to spend on the event any more. Perhaps one day I can waste an afternoon in the future.

There are griefers in various aspects of any game. To make the assumption that not one single player participating in this particular event is a "griefer" is simply asinine. There are griefers, I just don't subscribe to the notion that there are so many of them out there to make the event as onerous as some people think it is.
