You're talking about companions, right? Maybe you can point me to a specific place, but I'm pretty sure the game does not establish an age for our characters. And assuming my assertion is true, that means there is no way to say that Quinn is nearly twice as old as a female Warrior (and I am not saying that that was your claim). Now if the Codex says Quinn is 40 and a player wants to say his or her female Warrior is 20-ish, then sure, in that player's "head canon," Quinn is roughly twice as old as the player character.

So there is a place with our characters' ages?

So there is a place with our characters' ages?
I'm with you the SW and SI are prime examples of who knows what age any of them are. You didn't have to be a young 20 something slave... you could be an older 20 something. The SW is raised in a Sith Family, no holds bar on when they decided to enter the Academy after all, they are requested.

The Jedi Knight is kind of not easy to pin down, given the context all Jedi are trained very young but when does one get asked to go to Tython would vary. All that's made note in the JC is as a child the padawan is stronger in the force than the master. So this just substantiates the JC was trained early on, not their age.

Smuggler, you can be ANY age. Nothing gives any idea as to how old the Captain is, just that he/she was hired to do a job.

Trooper, commissioned and joined during a "cold war" with various "wars" happening through out the galaxy? A recruit would probably be between 18-30 I'd say but again nothing is really telling in the intro.

BH, any age. You were hired, that's all that's known about the BH.

IA, again just given a mission, no background on how long you had been an operative or when you joined the intelligence service.

Game doesn't but "Word of God" (meaning BW post) a long time ago claimed our characters to be roughly 20-25 when the game starts, depending on what character your are playing. And the class quests take place across roughly 3 years (10 ATC (3643 BBY) - 12 ATC (3641 BBY)).

And no, I cannot find the post now.

They did it for Dragon Age Inquisition, so your hopes aren't that unfounded.
I'm hoping they'll shed some light on a few of the new romances too. That way I'll know whether I have to start working on new characters ASAP or not.

As another poster said, there was a post, but besides that, one just has to read the comments they make with other NPCs.

Zash goes after the Inquistor in part for their youth.

There's a difference between a 18 year old new recruit and a 30 year old one and the trooper comes off closer to 18.

The who time, you're treated as a very new to your profession/life character. the only thing that comes out as constant is you seem to know of the Republic and Empire, Jedi and Sith.
"It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more...than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well, so *********** what." - Stephen Fry

Yep, it's pretty clear that the main characters are supposed to be in their prime. They're all rising stars in their respective fields, not masters of their craft who've been there forever (and who are probably about to go on the decline).

I don't know how old you are but a 28 yr old is still young and quite youthful in many respects.

If think you go down hill at 30... LOL

Look at when famous people's careers rose, it'll enlighten you a bit.

I would say the Jedi are more than likely in this boat because of the context of the era.

The Smuggler acquired a ship somehow, he/she built a small career before the story. This is probably the strongest story line to have someone much older than the rest of the story lines. Same with the IA, Quinn is 37 for a reason in his career.

Without evidence, I will not cow tail to something that "may be".

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Obi-Wan_Kenobi

Obi-Wan was in a different era but he was considered young and the council wasn't so quick to think he was ready to become a full Jedi at age 25.
