How scary will it be when you find out that while you were sleeping Valkorion allowed you to be married off to Skadge?

No doubt there has to be a connection between Valkorian and Vitiate... How many immortal emperors can there be out there after all? However If Vitiate is indeed included in the new story he will take more of a backseat role while Valkorian and his son or sons will be center stage. The new trailer was cool and certainly made the expanding story arch look interesting and mysterious, but Valkorian and his sons just don't come off especially threatening or give off that special menacing aura. The sons come off a couple spoiled rich kids with daddy issues and Valkorian just looks like some regular dude you would see shopping at Home Depot if he lost the fancy extravagant outfit. They just don't invoke the fear in me that Vitiate does. The one son is kinda scary to a degree after he receives cybernetics, but pales in comparison to someone like Darth Malgus. Hopefully as the new story progresses these guys will become far scarier than they appear at first.
Darth Maul was not scary to me at all...

To this day Hannibal Lecter is the scariest mofo to me, the TV show makes me squirm.

I think what scares people varies eh?

You know what's creepy about him? Look at the end of the video, when the camera pans upward from the body of his son, and he is standing there... ever so calmly... look that man in his eyes. His Dark Side ridden eyes. When I looked at it, the scene made me shiver... I really cannot wait for the expansion.

I always found characters like Grand Moff Tarkin, or Grand Admiral Thrawn to be much more threatening than the all out bad ones like Vader or the Emperor.

I just hope the story telling is good behind it all. I know they said they were going to try to go back to a "mass effect'" type story telling for this expansion, but the overall scheme of the enemy just seems far too much like Revan and the Revanites in terms of taking out both factions so they can unite/rule the universe.

It is also going to be quite interesting how they explain everything to bring us up to current events, considering where we've left off prior to the expansion and we're all of a sudden supposed to believe there's this huge new faction/empire out there that no one knew about and they just magically appear to wreck havoc on the galaxy. While I'm pretty excited for the new expansion, there is still a lot of room for them to screw things up in terms of massive plot holes, etc. if they don't tie it all together nicely or if they just set us out on this entirely new direction compared to where the game has been going.

Also I no longer consider Darth Vader scary or awesome like he used to be. The prequels completely ruined Vader for me and compared to some of the SWTOR villains, he is an absolute sissy now.

Its been setup for a long time, by orchestrating Republic, Empire and the Revanites against each other. Tython and Korriban are already in shambles, and writings on the wall now if you know where to look for it. I mean this new faction will just pick up the pieces.I like storytelling thats consistent over long time-period.

Its going to be a timetravel episode where you will find in the future that the world you knew has changed considerably while you were absent. Been done many times in fiction (planet of the apes, anyone? )

Maul was scary for George's targeted audience maybe, that is: little kids. Regardless, I like the tattoos and red skin from stylistic point of view.

That reminds me story about Maul's origins, George had instructed concept artist McCaig to draw 'his worst nightmare'. The result was too much for George and he backed down and said 'draw your second-worst nightmare' , which eventually evolved into Maul (accidental splattering of ink was involved).

Don't forget that this new empire has just snatched control from the faction that your own character sworn allegiance to earlier. I'm really hoping the faction is going to delve deeply into the question of "what keeps your character going? What is his/her motivation to take down the new empire?" What if you were lightside sith before and this new Empire is better and more humane than the old Empire? If your character was a smuggler doing work for republic just for money, why would you go against this new Empire? I find these questions extremely intriguing and Im sure they are really hard nuts to crack for the BW creative department. It also showcases why I dislike the "one storyline for all classes" so much. The motivations vary so much that it should be really hard to create a deep and intriguing storyline thats simultaneously same for all classes and backgrounds.
