I want there to be an expansion whose name abbreviates to "NGE", so that everyone can be like "Is NGE the NGE?"

It's the idea that DEVS don't communicate with player base leaving them as a experimental bunny rabbits.
People like to be informed especially when they are paying for something.
Devs like the CCP team form EVE online start sharing details months before release and constantly put them up on test server for people to test before going live or scrapping them in some cases.
EVE is absolutely one of best MMOS ever made and it's constantly growing. It's a niche product but they all make very good profit and stay independent so nobody can force them to do stuff.

Most other games companies basically don't give much **** about what you think. They will risk if they have to only to try to maximise profit. If it doesn't work, they will scrap the idea and move somewhere else. Hard to cope if you pay for something for years just to be told to **** off don't you think?
Problem is it is players fault cause if they would stand firm companies would bend and start acting like they are employed by you and not milking your wallets and making you beta players of their ideas.

Many people are smart unfortunately majority is too dumb to see simple fact so here we are and this post proves it right.
Peace is a lie...

i mean is there hard evidence that KotFE is destined to be a failure? as i see a lot of comparisons drawn i am struggling to understand because right now there is a lack of information but that info is forth coming and a number of players here are mentioning doom without much to go on. perhaps judging it too harshly too early or am i missing some details here?
It's just people using acronyms they don't really understand. Nothing new here :P

Have you ever heard the stories of a guy getting dumped by his gf? There on the news a lot, you know getting arrested for violating their restraining order or maybe you know one and his life is in a desperate spiral because it's been 10 years and he just can move on...well that's kind of like these bitter SWG vets.

Not to mention there is apparently some sort of instancing or phasing to deal with pre / post invasion worlds.
They never said anything about instancing pre and post invasion worlds. On the contrary, they said we could still visit old planets.
Whoever launched that stupid rumor that we would permanently lose our pre KOTFE companions is an idiot, it was NEVER said. The ability to get rid of companions is going to be a choice, so not forced on the player, no drama here. And the new companions, I don't see it radically change the current system, so once again, no worry.
As for "More mobile combat", expect the possibility to use channeled abilities on the move and the need for repositioning in PVE fights instead of stupidely bashing your opponent with your lightsaber/whatever weapon you fancy.

It's in every game. Whenever a dev makes any sort of change beyond just adding more of whats already there, or beyond nerfing or buffing abilities, someone always cries "NGE."

It's nonsense as for one; the NGE was way beyond what these things are and in such a rough state to begin with. And 2; eventually it did become the most polished version of SWG and a far cry from what it was when it first went live but most didn't see it because they were very bitter about the poor way SOE launched it, right after an expansion and rushed worse than the original game even.

Man, one particular poster in this thread is oozing drama. To the OP, that one poster is the perfect example of why people play the "KotFE = NGE" card. But I suspect you knew that and your real goal was to bait people like "that poster."

If you don't like what's being said, then just leave the thread? "Problem" solved.

It was a total remake of the game which pissed off most of the player base they had that was happy with the game already. Some changes were good but most altered the game play to the point where it didn't feel like the same game anymore and people left the game in droves because of the changes and the massive amounts of bugs that went along with the changes.
Dear BW,
Please nerf paper and buff rock. Scissors is fine as is.
Signed, Rock.

Yea all this and almost no forewarning it was happening. I think people were first aware of it a week before it dropped. Was the most bizarre game development decision (from the development itself to the total lack of marketing) I've ever seen.

This is why people that compare the NGE to anything this game has ever done have no real idea what they're talking about.
