Bioware, please don't keep secrets. We Don't want an NGE

Essentially, the NGE was a drastic and immediate change in game mechanics. It was a new game overnight and made a good amount of the player base feel broadsided.

From the official information I've seen, it sounds like Knights of the Fallen Empire is intended as an expansion on SWTOR, not a drastic change to the core game.

Reading between the lines, it sounds like KOTFE will move the timeline from the Galactic Cold War into a new war. New stories will surface and why each of our characters is doing what they do will change. Having defeated the Emperor a long time ago, my main toon has become quite bored.

The fact that there are now competing SWGEmu servers shows how loved SWG was.

I predict that at the end of the day KOFTE will be getting stick for not bringing enough non narrative stuff to the table. Lots of people latched on to the "focus on mobility in kotfe combat" as something more than the new lvl 65 skills being instant cast and everyone is having secret little hopes how their pet techincal peeve might get mitigated... When in October nothing else but a tun of improved cutscenes drop there'll be a full blown "this is it?!" hysteria.

All the original post was, was a plea to not keep secrets and spring them on people at the last second.

I had no idea there were so many people here who "trigger" when they see SWG or NGE.

'tis a wee bit creepy.

Considering they said they would be releasing more detailed info closer to a given event the sheer fact of asking for more info before that time is pointless as common sense says they will not give out more until that time no matter how often you ask them.

Are you new to gaming? Devs have the same credibility as politicians and used car salesmen. Yes, ALL devs.

To place blind faith in what they say is never a good idea.

Hounding them day in and day out for more information is also never a good idea.

It's the same as driving long distances with a kid who keeps asking "are we there yet?" ever 10 minutes. Eventually it just gets annoying to the point you ignore them.

And by hounding you mean the exactly one thread I made on the issue?

EDIT: The devs don't need a white knight to defend them, especially when they haven't been attacked.

Bad analogy! It's more like a Taxi driver. We're paying their salary with our business. They aren't allowed to talk to us unless we talk to them or they tell us exactly what we want to hear. And they better respond every time we ask them a question or we can refuse to pay at the end! If we want to say, "Are we there yet" every 100 ft then they have to deal with it. We pay their salaries. It's their job. They're slimy dev-politician-used car salesmen-taxi drivers, they don't deserve common sense and patience. /end_sarcasm
