I think it's time BW removes your self-proclaimed title as I'm sure not one person agrees with it and it's very misleading to newer members. Let's see if we can fix that...

They just devoted a ton of money, i.e. the trailer and the coming expansion (we'll have to see if its as large and good quality when it comes), not to mention an influx of staff and resources that came from another game or two shutting down, iirc. It's definitely a sign the developers have not given up on the game.

Personally, im fairly new starting about 6 months ago, and I see new players asking noob questions daily, so I take it as a sign the player base is growing. It seems a quality product to me, especially to new players with the 8 class stories and all. That's something a couple months ago I would have denied as I was on a dieing PvP server, Pot5. But since I've transferred to harbinger, the game is about as lively as I can imagine it with many instances running on every planet at peak and low population times that ive noticed. As someone already said, they just reduced transfer costs by 90% so its a great time to make sure you are on a populated server, which would be about any PvE from what I've heard.

And lastly, I personally think it would make absolutely no sense for them to close this game down with all the new SW hype over the new movies and other ventures. Even if they are considering it, I'm betting they wait until they see what effect the new hype has on it first. Its always a gamble, but taking the latest news into consideration, i'd bet on it being around for a couple years at least.

Seriously though, I think its doing pretty good and the October update as well as the movies coming out should keep this game running for quite a while.

The game is in great shape for all the reasons listed. Good time to jump in now to get your feet wet again, get your stuff sorted and then jump into early access for the xpac.

It should be a great fall for this game. I'm looking forward to the additional updates etc, once the xpac gets off the ground.

One more thing. I think it will be great to have the major xpac launch well before December. Any issues or problems that need to be dealt with will not have to deal with a holiday schedule at BW. I'm sure they appreciate that as well.

Honestly, how would we know what you should invest your time into? Play it, see what you think...I don't know what you like and you've got a sub.

Obviously every person able to reply to you is biased because we all have subs as well...but I'll give you my thoughts:
• PvP suffers from neglect which is why every PvP server is dead
• Balance is impossible for these devs to get right
• PvE content is delivered at a snails pace as updates have become one major content update a year (from monthly to every 6 weeks to every 8-9 weeks)
• Story content is consumed in mere hours...expect the year long development of FE to be just that...consumed quickly
• GSF, while fun, is also a forgotten and neglected addition to the game
• If it can't be sold on the CM, it's not that important to Bioware

However...what we do have is fun to me...so if you like what I like, you'll have fun here.

It's sad that you mention a game called Star Wars Galaxies in every thread. Galaxies utterly and totally failed as in nobody much played it and it cost SOE tons of money. I played it and it was the worst MMO I've played out of about a dozen. Worse, it was the most disappointing game ever as it was Star Wars and yet was a totally empty and shallow game with nothing to do. Also, you are not my "community ambassador" and should remove that title you didn't earn.

By way of contrast, SWTOR is an amazing game with tons of stuff to do. I've played daily since BETA and still am not bored. Plus, the Shadowlands server i'm on is growing rapidly. There were 150 people on fleet at 10am on a weekday today. That is crazy high compared to a few years ago. The game is thriving and should continue to improve with a major expansion on the way.

What is even sadder is that it bothers you. Why do you care what he preferred? He's paying his sub here now.

On topic, this game is in it's best spot since launch. The pace of new subscribers is the highest I've seen yet.
