The 52' Sanyo is 1080p at 120hz

I never get below 70 FPS anywhere. Not in 16 man ops or huge pvp battles in game.

I will add that I am running at 4.0 GHZ overclocked (Thank you OC GENIE) as well as an overclocked GPU.
The size of your monitor is not an issue, it is the resolution you run. You're running at 1080p using a GTX 980. Of course it is smooth as silk, as it should be.

The OP is running more than 3 times your resolution, and doing it with less GPU power than you have, so of course the OP isn't running very smooth.

If the OP replaced those 760 cards with a 980 or a pair of 970 cards, he'd be cooking with gas.

I've always run the game in SLI and Eyefinity before that, and ran into no issues.

The reason for wanting a 4k 40" monitor is to replace my 3 screens with a single screen capable of near the same resolution.
That is because a pair of 760 cards in SLI is a bit thin for that setup. A single 980 would run it better, but still might not be perfect. A pair of 970 cards or a 295x2 would be a better choice. Going to a single 4k monitor will make it worse, since a 4k monitor has more pixels than your currents setup.

A 4k 40" monitor would indeed probably be about equal to what you have now... But you really should give them in landscape mode a try.

As an example, when doing Xeno (yea, I know it is over now, but yesterday...) Standing in front of the boss, you can see all three cores, you have nearly a 170 degree view of the battlefield. That is a tactical advantage that you don't get with the setup you have.

In PvP, I often can see people coming from the side and behind before others and I surprise many that way. Fully zoomed out in an open area, the view is wonderful. Give it a try while you still have that setup.

Just as a comparison before i dismanle my system, (new build components arriving tomorrow) I have an old x58 based i7 960 @ 4.2 GHz, 12GB DDR3, SSD RAID and a single ATI HD 7870 2GB video card. Using Eyefinity, I run SWTOR across three 27" monitors at a resolution of 5760x1080. (1920x1080x3) With mostly high settings, at an average of 50-60 FPS. (with the exception of fleet, LOL)

I'm planning a new build and was wondering which monitor setup might not run into problems with TOR.

Important: SWTOR is my primary mmorpg, but not my primary game, otherwise I wouldn't be planning such a high end rig. My total budget for everything (including case, fans, liquid cooler) is $12,000.

1. Nvidia Surround: Five X 1920p:1200p, 120Hz, IPS (probably BenQ or Asus)
2. AMD Eyefinity: Six (two rows of three) X 1920p:1080p, 120Hz, IPS (probably BenQ or Asus)
3a. AMD Eyefinity: Three X BenQ XL2730Z *
3b. Nvidia Surround: Three X Acer XB270HU
3c. Nvidia Surround: Three X ASUS ROG SWIFT PG278Q

*Freesync disabled since it doesn't work yet in multi-monitor setups

GPU wise I was thinking either 2-3 AMD R9 Fury X or 2-3 Nvidia GTX 980 Ti should be enough any of those right?

Bump for suggestions:

If it helps my primary games are: Star Citizen (in Alpha), Elite Dangerous, Witcher 3.

I considered 4k projectors, but there`s no such thing as as a 4k 120 Hz projector... yet

I think you'll be hard pressed to find someone able to give any useful comments on this, considering that 99.9% of players probably never had 12k real money to spend and certainly not on a computer.

Chances are, more people are wondering whether you are for real or just wanting to show off with that massive budget.

I'm not poor but that budget is just way out there.

You can have a titan x and a top of the line gpu and the game will still have framerate issues. It isn't your pc, it is the engine / game. It is horribly optimized and it is a well known problem that hs been going on since launch.

Here's the juice of what I run:
Spoiler

Cliff Notes - IvyBridge I7-3770, MSI Mobo. 16GB RAM (DDR3), 2x NVidia 760's in SLI on 3 x 27" Dell U2412 Monitors (I run 3900 x 1920 custom resolution for the game), game is on a Crucial 256GB SSD. PSU is 1000w Corsair if anyone's curious.

I've played with NVidia Inspector and got it to sometimes work initially, only for framerate to bomb the next time I launch the game with no settings changes.

My goal is to have the absolute best quality while still running a steady 60 FPS or better.

Anyone have some specific suggestions? Only immediate one that comes to mind is trading my 3 monitors for a 40" 4k TV display so that I can refocus the SLI to maximize 3D performance rather than span displays with surround.

Certainly open to suggestions though.
I have an intel i5-4690k and NVidia GTX 970 (3rd best NVidia card on the market) and I get a max of 60 FPS. I honestly think 60 FPS is the most anyone can get out of this game.
