If you are OK with staying subbed so you can get the full basket of perks when the expansion hits then stay subbed. If the direction of the game really does cause you some sort of funny feelings, and the perks don't matter to you all that much, then drop the sub from full to preferred so you can protect yourself and what you deem important. After all, the expansion is free, and the bag of goodies are free. If you enjoy the expansion then stick around, but if you don't I'd just chalk the 12-15 bucks for that month you've prepaid as a sunk cost, and move elsewhere. OR you could change your subscription model so that it renews in like 3 months or so. In that space of time there will undoubtedly be way more information released that will give you the needed info to make your choice.
Well see, that's the thing. I would rather not make any changes to my sub at all because I believe in what BW has done and continue to believe in and support this game, minus some of the missteps they have made, of course. However, I feel that way about many other things, though, and unfortunately, the support outweighs the means to show it in a manner of speaking. So I would rather make sure every last cent I use on my forms of entertainment are used wisely and in support of the games I am currently playing, and plan on continuing to play in the future. SWTOR will still be a part of that up to a least launch day of the expansion. Beyond that, if my decision is to stop from that day on, then I want to make sure every last cent of of entertainment spending is going to one of those other things I am continuing to support.

Where I'm going is, please be upfront with what changes are happening and how they will be handled, things like specifics on how old content is changing and will level 60+ players bea able to access pre-KotFE planets.

Please don't wait until beta or too close to release to give this info, if you wait until then, if people hate it, it's too late to change anything.

This isn't a "DOOM" post, I'm hoping to prevent "DOOM" posts later.

Also, I know I won't get an @Bioware reply, but hopefully someone will read it and think about it.
First of all the NGE only granted players 2-weeks notice immediately following a *paid* expansion.
Are we paying for this expansion? No.

Old content is NOT going to change. This is an "end game" expansion, which is to say level cap increase and new areas associated with the higher levels. Nothing we have right now will change.
Let this sink in, this game is Free to Play, boasts one of the most popular IPs on the planet and yet 76.47% of the servers are empty.

The creatures we hunted had what was called pack instint, it was the first mmo to use it, meaning if you one mob you could be attacked by his buddies if they saw you. It looked great back in its day, and it had a great community with established player cities and consented open pvp. I say this so you get a glimpse of what made that base game so special has a hobby for a lot of us. And the game was still having 100k players before the NGE, but they hoped for more, and got 10k left after, so decided to close. Above all, was a big lesson. And those 100k tried to warn them. Then the 10k left didnt understand why paying the expensive copy rights of such a brand wasnt worth it with such small subs level left.
This pretty much sums the all history.
Hate to burst your bubble, but they had pack adds as you call them back in EQ.

I'm sure it'll be up on a test server with plenty of time even if they don't talk about it beforehand.

I'm not sure what you would do with said information were it available right this second instead of a month before launch. Quit early out of some form of statement that you disapprove of what's to come? Play the game for what it is now, not what it will be.

Anyone else get that impression from these SWG/NGE guys?
I do. They need to let it go. I removed a person in my life 2 years ago because ALL HE DID was complain about how things used to be, and never set out on any adventures, always complained about how it's not like it was. Toxic relationships are not good for anybody.

Let it go,
Let it go!
SWG is old and dead,
Let it go,
Let it go!
I'll tell you what, then. Why don't you call me some time when you have no class?

Then don't make any changes. It's entirely your choice. Not only are you coming close to "analysis paralysis," you seem to be approaching "The changes might force me to quit the game."

If they told you everything now the same people would cry and complain and work very hard to connect this with that old game that very few people left have actually ever played.

no win scenario....mete out the info?...forum drama....be all up front with it?...more forum drama.

ohh for !%!%'s sake they're not redoing the entire game ala NGE. where the hell did you even get that idea? these fourms are hilarious every time there's so much as a new patch you get people going "OMG! IT MIGHT BE THE NGE ALL OVER AGAIN!"

change does NOT equal the NGE people.
SWTOR is not SWG. it was never intended to be at all like SWG. and having a completly differnt design philophesy then SWG will never be like SWG
