You can find out with the rest of us. If you can't enjoy the game between now and Oct. 20 without extensive pre-knowledge, to quote Guss, "I got nothing for you." And if you simply cannot stand not knowing, quit now.

Which is why I would advocate for Bioware to tells us sooner rather than later. You act like I want this information solely for myself now. Of course I will find out with everyone else, because I want BioWare to let us know about these changes sooner rather than later because of the potential game changing nature of them. I have no intention of quitting at this point in time, and knowing or not knowing has no bearing on my enjoyment of the game, because I am enjoying the game.

However, I would like to make an informed decision in regards to the future of my sub and playing time left in SWTOR. If things are not going to change, then I would like to know now so I can plan my play time accordingly. If they are, I would like to know for the same reason (so I can plan more play time in SWTOR), as well as cancel my sub at the appropriate time as necessary. I have no desire to cancel my sub at all, especially if changes (if any) will have little to no effect. If they are, then I think it appropriate that the playerbase be informed so that those like myself, who will cancel their sub can do so in a timely manner.

To withhold this type of information until weeks or even a month prior to expansion launch is a bit disingenuous to the playerbase, IMO.

If you are enjoying the game now, how does not knowing what's coming Oct. 20 impact your enjoyment of the game now?

"Informed decision?" "Plan [your] time accordingly?" It's a computer game, not your retirement savings. Really, I don't get it. If you are having fun, play. If and when you stop having fun, stop playing. If you don't want to "risk" having your sub time extend into when the game might be unplayable for you, then switch to a 30-day option.

Oh well ,please pardon my ignorance. I stand corrected.
Some guy you saw on a thread knew, the rest of us didn't have a clue.
But I'll be sure to treat every game rumor I find in forums from this day forward as gospel all eleventy billion of them.

The obvious point was, that there was never any official announcement by SOE or Sony about the NGE prior to its implementation.
This game however has been granted this official announcement and lots of information about it months prior.

Summation = No comparison.

If someone really is concerned the informed decision would he to drop your sub and go preferred until more info is released or the expansion hits and feed back starts filtering in.

So I'm not passing judgment on you here but going to give you my opinion on what I gathered from this post.

To me this post (I could be completely wrong here no offense ) reminds of what people say is wrong with this new generation coming up. They think they are entitled to everything and when they feel this way they deserve a answer now or will throw a little tantrum about it.

I personally think it is disingenuous to sit here and say BW I'm entitled to get information when I want it or I'm going to unsub.

Again just my opinion here...

Some players want to "have their cake and eat it, too." They want the subscriber bonuses but don't want to "risk" subscribing for the 3 or so months required to get them only to find out they no longer want to play the game.

Umm... Why?

Why do you need to know now? Knowing today or knowing four months from now won't change the end result.

To be clear: You are not part of the development team. You have no special right to information any sooner than Bioware chooses to tell you, and they are well within their rights to tell you absolutely nothing up to the day of its release. They might be smart to release some details of that as they become certain, but short of that, they'd be wise to say nothing, because this community has shown time and time again that it cannot handle preliminary or uncertain information.

This is all that matters, and its how you should be living every day of your life right now.

Whining about what might be or what changes might occur are pointless. Demanding that you be told the future won't help either. Either you enjoy the game and are willing to pay to play it today, or you're not. Bioware isn't going to give you insider information just because you said you really, really need it, and they're not going to change their plans because you threatened to cancel your sub if they don't make you happy. So, play or don't. Sub or don't. No need for the demands or pretense that you're entitled to information because you want it.

Unfortunately, my play time is limited. When I can't be playing one of my favorite games, I at least try to stay involved by participating in the forums. Therefore, when I do have time to play one of my favorite games, I want to make sure I get the most out of that time. Again, knowing or not knowing right this very minute has no bearing on my enjoyment of the game. However, knowing what is to come will allow me to plan my time accordingly, so I can get the most of out my time playing SWTOR until I stop (if that ends up being the case).

That being said, I think it's appropriate that if something changes in a game that could potentially affect one's purchasing decisions in that game, than one is deserving of knowing what they are going to purchase ahead of time. As much as I despise SOE, when they made the decision to shut down some of their long time MMOs, they offered players a refund of certain monies spent as a result of that decision.

Do we have a right to know all the information about KotFE now? Certainly not, but yes, we are certainly entitled to know what core changes to the game are being planned so that we are able to make an informed spending decision on the future of the game, even if in a generalized overview. I don't think asking for a yes or no answer to whether the core leveling content is going to change and if there is a way to play the content without utilizing those changes is too much to ask at this point.

I am hardly holding my breath and throwing a tantrum due to not having this information, and my comments on cancelling my sub is not some threat to BioWare to stop making those changes, if any. It's just a statement of fact, like everyone else makes, that if they stop enjoying the game, they will stop playing. I would just like to know sooner rather than later so I can utilize the time I have left in the game (if it comes to that) to maximize my enjoyment and sub time up to that future point and make sure my saved up CC doesn't go to waste.

I'd caution you to the peril of "analysis paralysis" to which you're sounding a bit close to. I think my best advice is to take a step back, and enjoy the game the way you are. If you are OK with staying subbed so you can get the full basket of perks when the expansion hits then stay subbed. If the direction of the game really does cause you some sort of funny feelings, and the perks don't matter to you all that much, then drop the sub from full to preferred so you can protect yourself and what you deem important. After all, the expansion is free, and the bag of goodies are free. If you enjoy the expansion then stick around, but if you don't I'd just chalk the 12-15 bucks for that month you've prepaid as a sunk cost, and move elsewhere. OR you could change your subscription model so that it renews in like 3 months or so. In that space of time there will undoubtedly be way more information released that will give you the needed info to make your choice.
