BW this makes me angry with you and this is the first time I am wondering what type of company you are to force these people to either solo it or do it more than once.

Very disappointed in your behavior.

While it's not good news for me and the reasons that I play the game, I'm not sure that they're doing the wrong thing for their own financial success. Enough people seem to like single player games that play like MMOs, so this could be successful yet.

This disappoints me as well but my boyfriend already told me Friday that it doesn't matter how many times we will have to do, as long as we do it together. I know I am blessed to have someone like him.

Though I wish they would have thought this over better but this may change my outlook on them.

Kind of you to be sympathetic, but I don't see it as anything to be angry about. While I find it somewhat odd for an MMO to go in this direction, they can't cater to every play style and they have to make decisions about where their resources are best invested. It's not personal, and I don't feel ignored.

I'm not going to hold my breath that 3 - 4 in a group can enter instances though and will show my rage on these forums if that's the case.

I do not see how player choices can actually have meaningful impact if they do not have instances.

Perhaps they misstated things when they answered this:
"Will there be a phasing mechanic? Backus answered, “As of right now, no. We have no plans to do that.”"

HOW can you have player choice matter in a MMO without instancing? The whole save the city thing comes into play. IF you save it and I do not , it should not be there for me. That is accomplished via instancing. I am confused as to how they plan on doing this without it.

it sounds more and more like SWTOR is moving to a subscription single player game with Mutliplayer features. Perhaps that is the future. I know I play SWTOR for the story and if that is how I have to get it, then okay I guess. Better that than what has been going on.

The article makes a point of hinting at 'something' that they have in mind that'll enable them to show concrete impacts upon the game-world without phasing.

Though, what that would be....I have no idea.

Also, kind of strange they refuse to come into this forum and let us know what they intended. We actually had to go outside the website to find the answers to our questions instead of them actually taking the time to answer the questions.

The way they are doing these missions has taken my excitement from the expansion away. Yes I know they did it to make things easier for them but now for me it is one thing that I don't look forward to doing anymore.

Figures, oh well I should have figured they didn't care about groups.

I honestly have lost any excitement over this expansion.

I'm pretty excited for the day when I can start playing Fallen Empire. I hope the individual instances will apply to dailies and weeklies such as with Yavin IV Spirit of Cooperation (that legacy 192 companion gear set), it's tolerable for the most part because I can switch map instances if there's players in my way but it does get annoying having to switch so much.

But if all that daily stuff was in an individual instances there can be potentials for hilarious scenes, scenarios like defend the fort, or escort npc from one spot to another or deploy turret guns to kill waves of mobs etc. I really hope dailies will be phased content, more immersive for me at least and less annoying if other people weren't around.

Also, phased dailies could have more story related content, npcs etc where players can mess around without bugging others or having others interrupt the fun.
