There is this thing known as "game mechanics" and said "game mechanics" usually need labels. Names from lore make convenient names for said "game mechanics" regardless of whether it's proper usage of lore.

You are clearly unable to separate game mechanics from lore. Guess what, classes are just constructs for skills... your character is never even referred to by their advanced class title.

Within the stories, everything seems fine. You are either a Jedi who is potent with force abilities who follows the way of studying the force or a Jedi fighting to subvert the enemies of the Jedi (ultimately the Emperor himself)... there is actually nothing in the story that contradicts anything. They are just names for classes in an RPG. There is no need to justify them with canon or legends or whatever... they're freaking constructs; not plot points.

Stop calling it trolling to have that opinion, which is again, just as valid if not more so than yours.

Hilarious that we said essentially the same thing within minutes of each other. I posted after but did not see your post.

game mechanics has nothing to do with the proper legend based lore names that should never have been changed around based on the fact canon is jedi knight a rank and in legends AND IN THIS GAME jedi knight is an advancement/title in your story as well!

You're getting close to that critical realization. Jedi Knight is indeed a title granted to the Jedi Knight class when in their story, they are given the rank of Jedi Knight... you know, just like the progression from Padawan -> Jedi -> (Knight) -> Master generally goes.

Isn't that correct by lore? The answer is yes. Yes it is.

Again, your character's class and advanced class are never referred to in story form. Hence they are outside the restrictions of lore. They are simply RPG constructs. As long as the stories are correct lore-wise, it all works out.

No Jedi knight is the title you get as you advance in story. because its a jedi rank. so therefore theres no need for a jedi class of the same name when the actual proper class names can be given and it not change the mechanics of the game.

Actually... if you want to get technical to the lore, you are referring to branches. Not classes.

Classes are an RPG construct.
Branches are the three Jedi routes outlined by KoTOR.

The branches are not used in this game; but they are not defied by this game either.
The classes are a meta property of your character that is never spoken. Non-story elements are not subject to the same lore requirements.

Thus, the seemingly reasonable conclusion is that the class and advanced class RPG elements are fine as is.

Thats a stronger argument I find less offensive than just saying nu uh nu uh nu uh to me...

But even still the jedi branches have their designated "classes" that is an argument worth merit, don't you believe?

I just think the other names are better fitting even in this game than its current set up. I again say I don't understand why you all wouldn't appreciate or like the titles.

One: The current ranks, and titles, etc that you earn are so widely engrained into the player-base that you would be introducing confusion. Change needs to be derived from a necessity.

Two: Even if it is just a text change, it is an unnecessary change. Going in and routing through the code to fix a non-issue is basically just introducing new opportunities at the code acting up.

Three: You have not been the most diplomatic salesman.

and you haven't been very receptive regardless you have all argued even with made valid points. I have not been offensive until recently also.

But regardless its not a non issue when it isn't the proper lore.

Also Isn't Jedi knight also given to the Consular when they reach a level in their story?
